The foreign lads have been a real disappointment haven't they? Just shows where signing a bunch of agent recommendations rather than doing proper scouting gets you.

I trust we'll not be hearing any more from 'Agent Darren' during January.

Magera, Cibocchi, Risser.....

Whilst not near the players in front of them in terms of team selection, I feel that these three have enough to be ok as backup.

Not sure that we would get much better to be squad players only.

No real stinkers there just a few disappointments, Mcomack has been a revelation at the back and while I think he will be limited in higher leagues, Smith has got a got better and better. A real physical presence (he will get a red sometime :)).

Who did the scouting on the likes of Lanzano, Comazzi and Atiku?

OK...I was being a little harsh then.

Dicanio did when he asked them to train at first.

Yeah but someone must have recommended them. Their agents directly?

Either way he got it a bit wrong by signing them too quickly. Hindsight is a wonderful thing of course.

Yeah sorry.The agents recomended them.

I think Di Canio panicked with some of the pre-season signings, did he not admit as much with Atiku?

I can see why he did, we had almost an entire squad leave last summer.

To be honest I'm impressed he swallowed his pride and stopped playing the duffers. He's got a massive squad be he's currently getting more right than wrong.

I wasn't having a go at him.

(I sometimes feel as though any time I pass comment on Di Canio it's construed as criticism, perhaps based on my opposition to his appointment earlier this year, whereas I'm trying to look at it as objectively as I can...perhaps I'm just being paranoid though.)

Really don't think you can blame any of it on the agents - they all trained with us before we signed them so it lies solely with PDC as far as I'm concerned. His fault as well if they didn't train with us or he didn't see enough of them.

Important thing is to acknowledge the fuck ups and move on, which means getting rid of asap to free up the salaries with any money received being a bonus. Don't remember us spending much during the summer so hopefully there is some money available to buy a couple of forwards - will be more than enough under the salary cap if we get rid of the fuck ups.

Correct and that is what he is doing.

Let's now see who goes and who comes in.

The good thing for me is that if the january signings are of the same ilk as the players signed since he realised he made mistakes then we will be ok.

People need to remember that in order to get rid of a player there needs to be another club who wants them.

A lot of these guys are on 2 year deals so we wont just be releasing them.

I didn't think you were?! Apologies if that is how it cam across, it was just the normal inane drivel from me.

The flip side to that is that they are not really on alot of money to be fair

We are a well run financial club we are these days. I can't see the board wanting to pay up too many contracts when some of these guys will do fine as squad players if needs be.

Agree,we will have probably helped them find a club already.
