Says the manager who acts like one. He should remember how good they have been in recent weeks. No team can do it every match.

If he was that angry with the players I can only imagine what he's done to Bogus Dave

Agreed. 14 games including 3 tough games in 7 days. It may have been sub par, but being so reactionary/flamboyant/passionate in public will serve no good purpose. Leave such things to us armchair experts.

I literally only understood about 50% of that... i did make out that he wasn't happy with De Vita, Kerrouche, and Gabilondo though.

Wow, just listened to it properly. He really was rather cross wasn't he. I'm sure he'll have cooled down by Thursday or Friday.

On the plus side, hearing his rage makes me more sure he wasn't really serious about his contract, and how determined he is to get us up.

Manager in angry-after-final-whistle shock? Non-story.

At least he isn't moaning at the referees and officials like 95% of managers these days.

My take is that while it is a slight overreaction, it shows how passionate he is. A point away from home against a local rival isn't the end of the world, but to see our manager unhappy with that is progress IMO.

Onwards.

He's f*cking intense even when he's not angry, that's just how he is. When I interviewed him I felt I'd gone 10 rounds with Tyson!

To be fair mate after every game he says they have been fantastic. He does nothing but praise them from the interviews i hear.

A few of the players took it a bit too lightly in the last week by the sound of it.

Yes he does go over te top here a bit but fuck me this iterview is no where near as bad as the bbc and the adver made it out to be on saturday

Because of Paolo's passion, not winning against Oxford and Rovers would of really got to him. He knows how much it means to the fans but at least we get another chance at both of them.

Don't think PDC would have been very happy with the low expectations on here that meant BDs was only due to be shot had we lost

Totally agree.

Me too. Would have been nice for them to have chosen to spin it in such a way as to highlight how this shows the passion he has to win every game and the extremely high expectations he has of himself and his players, but I guess it sells more papers to present it the way they have.

So, PDC basically brings in a new squad over the summer, is charged with motivating them and they aren't good enough?

He's a one-trick pony (or chihuahua) when it comes to player motivation.
o
Sounds like he's already bored and is trying to engineer a move to a bigger club.

Dread to think what it was like in the dressing room as I imagine he turned it down a notch for the radio.

In honesty I think most fans would have been happy with a point away to a fired up Rovers team, I was...no surpise from Di Canio but these are his players not thrust on him by a previous incumbant. Dont understand him really.....recent match against Bradford we played far worse than on Saturday yet his reaction was nowhere like this...I nearly walked out it was so poor.....love the bloke but cant see him being with us for long. Really good managers always protect their players when things dont go according to plan they dont publically berate them...the reality is we haven`t lost for 14 games, so why throw the toys out of the pram. Come on Di Canio, sort yourself out.....now. I wonder how he would have reacted if he had played for a manager with his style of management.... :hmmm:

the best managers usually defend their players in public, not always; how about when mourinho (at chelsea) was asked why he made three half-time substitutions, he said that he'd have made 11 subs if he could. or ferguson slating evra after the city game. redknapp was very critical of darren bent at times, and defoe. at least pdc didn't name names (although it's obvious it was the three wingers and magera's petulant first half reaction that caused him the most grief)

Sorry i really can't agree with that. We lost 4 games in a row and he came out and was really supportive.

He has seen in thelast week players not putting a shift in on the training ground and last week had 4 different players asking what time they get off over christmas. I sortof understand where he is coming from.

Don't get me wrong he has gone over the top here but saying he is not protective of his players is wrong imo.

What we need to do really here is wait and see what response he gets from the players on saturday, if it has had an adverse effect then yes he was wrong but lets say we batter them? In my mind that says to me that although it seemed odd it had theright effect

I love that interview, it shows he cares and that when players don't do as he wants then he will drop them.

Nothing wrong with what he said at all.

Heart, passion and a will to win....what more could any Town fan ask of their manager?

Hes fucking great.
