Title: Soham.
Post by: leefer on Saturday, December 3, 2011, 05:56:02
Delivered to Soham in Cambridgeshire a few times recently, about the size of Highworth this lovely little town still has that feeling of getting over the Huntley affair....the river Cam where Cambridge and the shire get its name runs fairly close and meanders southwards to Essex where it meets the River Chelmer..where of course a ford being built over it gave us Chelmesford...anyway some nice early morning pictures of the main Church which dominates the town...St Andrews i believe.

Was a glorious day there on Friday and the sun seemed to catch the church....clear blue sky and a touch of frost.

Also the ivy on this grave caught my attention...must be rather spooky at night :gay:

I used to travel all over England when I was a youngster as a lorry driver's mate. The money was terrible but it was an enjoyable 3 years. We would regularly visit East Anglia. Some lovely towns around there and Bury St Edmunds :D

As some of you will know I lived for 14 years on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, remember travelling to Soham in the FA vase and getting beat 1-0, having outplayed our more illustrious opponents for the complete 90 minutes!!!  Bury St Edmunds is a decent place, but the out of town centre industrial estates are soulless and ghastly!

Are there any picturesque industrial estates though to be fair?
