Title: Charlie Post by: Family at War on Sunday, November 20, 2011, 11:15:59 Looks like he has a career long injury as he went off again yesterday with a dislocated shoulder (third time)
Title: Re: Charlie Post by: leefer on Sunday, November 20, 2011, 11:23:24 Yep....that challenge with Davies the Saints keeper is going to haunt him,may have to give the game up if it keeps happening....this one may be him out for the season.
Title: Re: Charlie Post by: No Longer Posh Red on Sunday, November 20, 2011, 11:40:10 It's similar to Barry Corr & many years ago Bryan Robson.
I'm assuming that he didn't have an operation when it happened at Burnley last season, but it looks like he may well have to have it this time if he wants to continue in football Title: Re: Charlie Post by: Family at War on Sunday, November 20, 2011, 11:47:50 Had an op the end of last season
Title: Re: Charlie Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Sunday, November 20, 2011, 12:30:18 Hope he recovers quickly. I'm quite glad we sold him when we did now.
Title: Re: Charlie Post by: Peter Venkman on Sunday, November 20, 2011, 12:34:48 Hope he recovers quickly. I'm quite glad we sold him when we did now. Indeed, it did leave a sour taste in the mouth when he left but its water under the bridge now, hes still the best goal poacher I have ever seen in a Swindon shirt and hope he has a speedy recovery. Title: Re: Charlie Post by: Batch on Sunday, November 20, 2011, 12:49:58 Not good, but Barry Corr looked to be in the same position and came back for Southend.
Title: Re: Charlie Post by: DV on Sunday, November 20, 2011, 13:24:42 Hope he recovers quickly. I'm quite glad we sold him when we did now. Still think if we'd waited till July we'd be playing L1 football this season but meh. Title: Re: Charlie Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Sunday, November 20, 2011, 13:27:59 Still think if we'd waited till July we'd be playing L1 football this season but meh. I'm not so sure. Id rather have Di Canio than Wilson anyway to be honest. Title: Re: Charlie Post by: DV on Sunday, November 20, 2011, 13:40:10 I'm not so sure. Id rather have Di Canio than Wilson anyway to be honest. I think we would have scored enough goals to stay up if we'd kept Charlie. I think its a given that just about anyone would take Di Canio over Wilson. Title: Re: Charlie Post by: Family at War on Sunday, November 20, 2011, 14:00:02 Anyone think Mr A Fitton and Co may have known something and put one over Burnley?
Title: Re: Charlie Post by: Spencer_White on Sunday, November 20, 2011, 14:48:24 Anyone think Mr A Fitton and Co may have known something and put one over Burnley? Everyone knows that when a shoulder socket pops out it is weak for a long time. Burnley took that risk. I was watching the game and I thought he looked one of their best players. Swindon fans would do well to bury the hatchet with him, because from his twitter postings he still seems a bit obsessed with STFC. Title: Re: Charlie Post by: Sippo on Sunday, November 20, 2011, 16:16:25 Good he deserves it.
Who gives a fuck. Title: Re: Charlie Post by: Benzel on Sunday, November 20, 2011, 16:26:46 Yeah he's obviously got a soft spot for us, winds up Pox fans and refers to us as 'we'.
Title: Re: Charlie Post by: Simon Pieman on Sunday, November 20, 2011, 16:34:07 Good he deserves it. Who gives a fuck. Contradiction. Title: Re: Charlie Post by: Spencer_White on Sunday, November 20, 2011, 16:35:33 Contradiction. Came unstuck trying to fish in 2 different ways in the same post. Honestly think he will make his way back to STFC one day. Title: Re: Charlie Post by: sonicyouth on Sunday, November 20, 2011, 17:02:16 it'd be a shame if his career was curtailed because of this, I presume a lot of the potential transfer moneys were tied up in performance clauses?
Title: Re: Charlie Post by: gingernuggets on Sunday, November 20, 2011, 17:07:27 Gutted with this - had a decent wedge on him being top scorer this season. Lambert getting a hattrick on the same day rubbed salt in the wound.
Title: Re: Charlie Post by: axs on Sunday, November 20, 2011, 22:34:37 I hold no grudge against him, would clap him if he played against us.
Title: Re: Charlie Post by: deltaincline on Sunday, November 20, 2011, 22:48:03 Austin was a cunt the way he left us. That said, his dad is a cunt - and he advises his son, so it isn't really a surprise that he was such a cunt.
Sort of saying I can forgive him being a cunt due to the advice he gets and his upbringing. Never had any doubt about his ability, and his was a true fairy story that could been spun better - with someone with half a brain advising him. I wish him well with his recovery. Title: Re: Charlie Post by: mrverve on Monday, November 21, 2011, 10:16:36 Best finisher I've seen at Swindon.
I think he left more to do with events off the pitch than on it if I'm honest. Came unstuck trying to fish in 2 different ways in the same post. Honestly think he will make his way back to STFC one day. Why do you say that Spence? Title: Re: Charlie Post by: wokinghamred on Wednesday, November 23, 2011, 19:32:53 Not good, but Barry Corr looked to be in the same position and came back for Southend. Out again now though. Missed the start of the season with a knee injury , and now hes had an operation that will keep him out most of the rest of the season. Title: Re: Charlie Post by: Matchworn Shirts on Wednesday, November 23, 2011, 19:42:21 He's finished.
Sad because he's a very good player Title: Re: Charlie Post by: Batch on Wednesday, November 23, 2011, 19:54:09 Out again now though. Missed the start of the season with a knee injury , and now hes had an operation that will keep him out most of the rest of the season. Yes that's true. But the point is its not his shoulder this time. I thought he was finished when his shoulder popped the last time, but he wasn't. Hopefully the same is true of Austin. Title: Re: Charlie Post by: DA15red on Wednesday, November 23, 2011, 20:54:42 Wish him well. Very few sports careers are ended by injuries to the main shoulder socket (I know this is different injury) as the operation is very succesful and can strengthen the joint. This is a common rugby injury and most come back to a game where shoulder collision is frequent. Wouldn't be surprised if Spence is right reference seeing him back in the distant future.
