Ritchie salutes his wingman De Vita

MATT Ritchie has been given plenty of praise for his form in recent games, but the winger was keen to direct some of the plaudits towards Raffaele De Vita.

I have to agree De Vita has been great in his new position and took his goal well on Saturday

Ditto.  Hasn't set the world alight but has been far more effective in the RW role and with a strikers instinct should be able to sniff out a few more goals before the end of the season...

Does a different job to Easyjet/Gabby. More solid and very hard working, less spectacular. IMO he gives Kennedy a bit more protection.

Still surprised Esejas/Gabilondo haven't been seen on the bench on occasion, particularity on Saturday when we had two strikers on the bench.

This is the key bit for me.  De Vita has clearly exceeded expectations and needs to be congratulated for his contribution so far.  I just can't understand why Gabilondo (and, to a lesser extent, Esajas) are not making the bench.  Both could make a significant impact as subs.  The Washbag has an interesting piece (http://thewashbag.com/2011/09/27/paolo%e2%80%99s-first-10-sub-frenzy-does-the-business/) on this today.

can't be arsed to sign up to the Washbag to reply on there but I agree about Gabilondo. He was excellent at Bristol City. Dribbled past his man with ease on numerous occasions. I don't think he offers enough defensively or experience wise to Kennedy for Paolo though.

You don't need to register to post comments on The Washbag. Just need an email address and moniker.

I don't need either of those to post my reply on here though.

Don't think you need to.  You just enter your e-mail address and a user name with each post (and the website remembers both the next time you comment.)
