Title: Team for tomorrow? Post by: sonicyouth on Friday, September 23, 2011, 13:47:36 McCormack's out so it'll be a different team - although it would be anyway, Di Canio is Ranieri's tinkerman understudy - so who would you pick?
Discuss. (I will formulate my plans at work this afternoon) Title: Re: Team for tomorrow? Post by: Sippo on Friday, September 23, 2011, 13:50:22 Easy. Flint will come. Same team.
Title: Re: Team for tomorrow? Post by: nevillew on Friday, September 23, 2011, 14:11:11 Easy. Flint will come. Same team. So not the same then. Title: Re: Team for tomorrow? Post by: Peter Venkman on Friday, September 23, 2011, 14:12:49 I have a feeling that PdC will tinker again with the team and he will play Magera up front for the extra height up front, if he passes the fitness test, as PdC said he was close to returing to action last week pre match.
Mattia Lanzano Paul Caddis Joe Devera In Like Flint Callum Kennedy Matt Ritchie Jonathan Smith Simon Ferry Raffaele De Vita Mehdi Kerrouche Lukas Magera Title: Re: Team for tomorrow? Post by: Sippo on Friday, September 23, 2011, 14:15:30 So not the same then. Apart from Flint in for McCormack, yes. Title: Re: Team for tomorrow? Mattia Lanzano Paul Caddis Joe Devera In Like Flint Callum Kennedy Matt Ritchie Jonathan Smith Simon Ferry Raffaele De Vita Mehdi Kerrouche Lukas Magera Agree with this apart from Connell up front to start with Magera on the bench. Title: Re: Team for tomorrow? Post by: london_red on Friday, September 23, 2011, 14:24:09 I would go with
Lanzano Caddis Devera Flint Kennedy Ritchie Ferry Smith Gabilondo Connell Kerroooooooosh Think PdC will go with De Vita on the wing and Cibocchi/Comazzi at the back with Devera though. Title: Re: Team for tomorrow? Post by: iffy on Friday, September 23, 2011, 16:53:46 I can't really pick the team since I got utterly confused by the post on the Washbag about foreign players
Title: Re: Team for tomorrow? Post by: stfcinbmth on Friday, September 23, 2011, 17:07:09 Flint and Connell first names on team sheet for me
Title: Re: Team for tomorrow? Post by: Peter Venkman on Friday, September 23, 2011, 17:13:14 I would say that for me Connell should start but I have a feeling that Paolo will change it again, he doesnt really seem to rate Connell for some wierd reason, I think hes our best attacking option.

Totally agree JJ, I still think given a decent run and I don't mean hauling him off after 45 mins, he will score 15-20 this season Title: Re: Team for tomorrow? Post by: Benzel on Friday, September 23, 2011, 17:24:13 He was taken off with an injury last weekend.
Title: Re: Team for tomorrow? Post by: stfcinbmth on Friday, September 23, 2011, 17:49:32 He was taken off with an injury last weekend. Didn't realise that Title: Re: Team for tomorrow? Post by: Power to people on Friday, September 23, 2011, 18:26:58 I can't really pick the team since I got utterly confused by the post on the Washbag about foreign players I'm glad I'm not the only one to think that.....I wonder though if he will bring back Smith to free up a foreign slot Title: Re: Team for tomorrow? Post by: A Gent Orange on Friday, September 23, 2011, 18:38:37 I'm glad I'm not the only one to think that.....I wonder though if he will bring back Smith to free up a foreign slot It doesn't really change the team. 4 out of 10 home grown is easy if Kennedy, Devera, Flint, Connell and Ritchie are in the team or on the bench. Title: Re: Team for tomorrow? Guess it will be a surprise tho Title: Re: Team for tomorrow? Post by: Swindon Please Win on Friday, September 23, 2011, 19:12:50 Have Gabilondo and Esajas been injured? why has De Vita been playing left mid, seemed very ineffective out wide.
Team i'd like to see : Lazano Caddis Flint Devera Kennedy Ritchie Ferry Smith Gabilondo Magera Kerrouche Title: Re: Team for tomorrow? Post by: Barry Scott on Friday, September 23, 2011, 19:18:13 Wouldn't mind seeing Gablindo and Cibocchi down the left, along with Flint in at CB.
Title: Re: Team for tomorrow? Post by: knifey spoony on Friday, September 23, 2011, 19:40:18 De Vita's done fairly well on the left, but I think it's time we stuck a proper winger out there, especially at home. Gabilondo deserves another chance.
Title: Re: Team for tomorrow? Post by: sonicyouth on Friday, September 23, 2011, 21:03:39 Four out of 16 isn't difficult, is it? I'd go for...
Lanzano Caddis (HG) Flint (HG) Devera (HG) Kennedy (HG) Ritchie (HG) Ferry J Smith Gabilondo Kerrouche Connnell subs: P Smith (HG), Comazzi, Cibocchi, Esajas, Magera Title: Re: Team for tomorrow? Post by: Benzel on Friday, September 23, 2011, 21:04:45 I don't think Caddis counts because he came through in Scotland, sy.
Title: Re: Team for tomorrow? Post by: sonicyouth on Friday, September 23, 2011, 21:05:53 oops... I knew that!
Title: Re: Team for tomorrow? Post by: cheltred69 on Friday, September 23, 2011, 22:18:12 It needs to be 6 out of 16 home-grown now - was 4 out of 18 last season but the home grown rule was changed at the same pre-season meeting that reduced subs from 7 to 5.
That's why De Vita came in for Gabilondo at last minute against Rotherham. Not relevant as he's unavailable this week but McCormack doesn't count as home grown as he played in Ireland until after his 18th birthday. Title: Re: Team for tomorrow? Post by: Batch on Saturday, September 24, 2011, 07:05:32 According to the adver the rules are:
Quote To qualify as home-grown, players must have been registered with an English or Welsh professional football club for at least three seasons prior to their 21st birthday. But they list McCormack as home grown: Quote Against Burton Albion last Saturday, Di Canio included nine players in his squad that are classed as home-grown. Callum Kennedy, Joe Devera, Matt Ritchie, Raffaele De Vita, Jon Smith, Alan Connell and Alan McCormack all started the game, while Miles Storey and Phil Smith were on the bench. Wiki have him registered at Preston in 2002 Title: Re: Team for tomorrow? Post by: cheltred69 on Saturday, September 24, 2011, 10:20:20 I was going from a radio interview with PdC after the Rotherham game where he said that McCormack wasn't counted as home-grown.
have now looked up his stats at Scoccerbase.com which records him as signing for Preston in Dec 2002, shortly before his 19th birthday so he wouldn't have had 3 full seasons in England before end of season in which he turned 21.
