Title: Macclesfield Away
Post by: Langers on Tuesday, September 20, 2011, 14:20:46
Is anyone actually going to this? Friday is a stupid day for football.

Tickets are actually quite cheap, so I may go.

I'm considering it. If I do, i'll stay up  there and drive back on the saturday.

Was going but Mrs Flash ex husband is away with work and this has fucked everything up.

I have a couple of nights in the travelodge at Burnley up for grabs, as i was stopping here for the weekend (12 miles from York dales etc).

Not too far from home so can get home after work, get changed and be there for kick off..Seems a strange game to have on a Friday as it will be a bugger for people to get from Swindon to Macclesfield on a Friday afternoon..

Bit of a puzzle why this is a Friday, I suppose Mac might think they'll get a bigger home crowd, in the way that Tranmere and Stockport used to do it.  However given that we've one of the bigger away followings in Div 4, you'd think they'll be losing a few hundred here.

Wasn't the last time we played them at Moss Rose on a night too? 2-1 defeat if I recall?

Definitely lost 2-1....can't remember the day. Drove past Moss Rose a couple of years back, did think about stopping and climbing over the fence, to claim it as a ground visited, but that would be cheating.

I've managed to get Friday afternoon off work....dilema though as it's one of my mates birthdays and he's out on the razz in Bristol that night with all the lads so I'm not sure what I'll end up doing!

Must be mental. I am going, the only question though is coming back Friday night or staying up there for the night.

Debating it, as I'll be up at uni in Warrington/Chester by then.

Only problem is that it clashes with one of the Freshers events that I really don't want to miss.

Maccs in Cheshire Flash  :)

Cheshire Flashes are wetlands created as a result of salt extraction....now valuable wildlife reserves.

Around Winsford you can find the Top, Middle and Bottom Flash.....commendable for birds, deplorable for blokes.

A bit cruel to leave kids wandering around in Sale for the weekend though.

None of us at The Washbag are able to make it to Macclesfield this Friday.

If you're going to the game, would you be interested in sending us your match report / reactions to be published on our site on Monday 3rd October?

Send me a message if you're interested.

Cheers, Ron

Southend v Shrews' this Friday too. Southend have planned about half a dozen friday night games this season just to see if there is any improvment on their gates as these games dont clash with neigbouring teams like West Ham Utd. Just is a pain in the a*** for away fans though.
