This reminds me... The other day I was around my Mum's and from a distance we noticed something, almost looking like a slug, on the floor. We went over to it and saw it wasn't a slug, but actually looked like a hornet, although entirely black and with no wings. I've never seen anything like it before but we thought it was a beetle.
