I watched Frontline Football last night and was disgusted by the plight of the Palestine football team.  Basically this BBC reporter went to Palestine to check the progress on their national team.  Thanks to the occupation of their country by the Israelli's the Palestinians can't even play football without needless military intervention.

The sooner the western world sort these fucking israelli's out the better.  This really pissed me off last night, can't believe we don't do something to end this persecution of a nation.

The one thing that always brings people together is a football.  Its ridiculas they cant even play

I caught the end.  Its so terrible the way they took bits of that families land at the end, without offering compensation or even negotiating.

Also the notes at the end that the Israeli's came and built on their local footy pitch 6 weeks after filming was just disgusting.  They need to remember that they are already living on Palestinian land since the war, and their acts of barbarity and unfairness are bang against what they signed up to in their declaration of a Jewish state of Israel.

They had to play against Iraq in Qatar (a neutral country), a lot of their best players were refused travel permits by the Israelli's (who control all the borders in those parts).

One player (who did manage to get a permit) left for two weeks to play on his return the Israelli's had wrote to his father to tell them to leave the land his family had farmed for the last 200 years because they needed it to build a new (illegal) base.  If they went near the land, the army would start shooting at them.

I just wish our governments who have so called declared "war on terrorism" would sort out the greatest terrorists of them all.  Not only would it put right a wrong it'd also blow apart the theory that our governments are anti-islam.

I watched it too. It did highlight the plight of the palistinians in general as well as their football team.

I thought the program did have an anti Israli bias to it, not much was made of the Palestinian terroist attacks on innocent Isralis (kids) Having said that, the Isralis are occupying the palestinians homeland, I'm just saying that there has been plenty of needless death on the israli side too, even if they have caused the whole situatiuon.

I'm not standing up for Isreal though, blowing up peoples houses where they're families have lived for centuries is well out of order, especially when there was no compo involved at all. As you lot have mentioned the most sickening part was right at the end when the isralis buldosed the only pitch in the Gaza strip for no reason other than to be cuntish.

Good program though, thats the first I've caught of the series and I'll be watching the rest for sure.

I think it was always gonna be anti-Israelli though PM, think it'd be very difficult for a western journalist to go to Palestine and then defend Israel in their homes.

I don't condone the Palestinian attacks on Israel but living in those conditions I can see why it happens.  It must be very easy to recruit impressionable youths to become martyrs for their country's cause.  The Israelli's are not helping themselves.

Why should a one hour journey to Jordan take 6 hours, or in some cases 6 days?????  

PS I loved the bagpipes, before the Iraq/Palestine match, playing for he's a jolly good fellow, whilst the Palestinians warmed up in their Yasser Arafat t-shirts.

No i know.  It just shows how flimsy the 'War on Terror' manifesto is.  Other than African debt, i think on a worldwide scale that the Palisinian plight is the biggest priority.

I agree. It is pretty hypocitical of the Yanks to attack Iraq twice (only once for invading another country) yet they let the Israelis get away with whatever they want because American jews have loads of money. The situation stinks big time.
