I may well be.  Im not sure where Burton is but I may be there.

Yep going up on the coach as it's half the price of the trains - and then some!

It's as close as I'm going to get to a home game this season and it's cheap. Would be rude not to.

Burton is about 10 miles south of Nottingham.....still has a lot of charm and oldy feel to it with a glorious bridge crossing the River Trent....the ground is small and compact and on/near an industrial estate.

Swindon to Gloucester...M5  North to the Midlands,join the M42 and stay on it until it reaches the A42 north of Brum......straight on to Burton.

2 hours by car give or take 15 mins.....a bit shorter if you like to put the foot down. :D

It looks very very dull from the pictures I've seen, makes me hope we manage to redevelop the CG with some of it's original character than replace it with a concrete shitblock

Yes i have...i went to the Pirelli for a non league match......not a great ground but it does create atmosphere when full....bit like Northampton i suppose.
It is actually about 20 miles from Nottingham not ten.

can't imagine it getting very full very often. L2 is all about the shit towns no one has heard of.

I'm going, out on the 10 am from Euston, reason that early being there is apparently a beer festival on, which i shall be visiting for 2 1/2 hours before staggering to the ground.

The place is full of breweries...Marstons is there,also Corrs.......also the marmite factory!

So youll either love Burton or hate it.

I'll love it as I'll be bollocksed and we'll win. (one of those statements may not be a fact)

I'm in Birmingham next weekend and just realised Burton is just over 20 mins by train and return is £6.75!

I'm in if there is a pub in Burton and ppl I know are going :)

The Cross country stretch of line between Cheltenham and Birmingham is expensive on fares.

Doing the Beer festival, then have a disco on the terracing.

Going up with a mate for this, been looking forward to it for a while.

Correct Luci,this link is fairly up to date(2009) so not sure about the pubs etc....but some good info for those going by train etc....probably a bus or taxi share,or a walk of a mile and a half from the station.

Not going now...been there to see Burton lose to Accrington a few seasons back, nice enough ground, seemed to be surrounded by a moat!?

Its a tidy little ground at Burton, I like it. Friendly club and fans too in my experience.

Tamworth or Derby. Burton is a shithole.

I hold Burton fans in very high regard after yesterday.

Apparently they were singing to Oxford fans "you're just a bus stop in Swindon" :)

I've been working in Burton for seven years and live 20 miles away so this is a dream fixture for me...Sutton Red, yes there is a big beer festival on which is best to get to early as can get "boisterous"

There are some brilliant pubs if you like decent beer...The Coopers is a five min walk from the Station and is not the sort of place you can buy WKD...thankfully!! Also Burton Bridge brews on site.

There is the Lord Burton -Weatherspoons on the High Street..

The ground is small and modern..a bit like Walsall ten years ago....The town is a bit faceless and smells of either Marmite or Curry, depending on which way the wind is blowing..

Considering going and have been looking at train prices and just a tip for anyone who hasn't already got their train ticket, instead of going from Euston straight to burton or via Birmingham, go from Euston to tamworth and then change to go to burton, worked out cheaper for me anyway.

It might be a change of plan for me now, what's the cheapest way of getting to Burton on the train anyone? I'll be going from Chippenham, I don't my beat up old car would get me there and back.

Can't go as I'm at a wedding. Last time I couldn't go to a game because of a wedding, we lost to Oxford.  :hmmm:

Now now, we have always had a history of doing well against top teams and struggling against teams that we should tehnically beat!

Heads up to anyone with sun vouchers. I was planning on using these tomorrow but my mate called Burton today to ask if the vouchers were still valid. He was told that Burton had sold their allocation of sun voucher tickets. Looks as if it's full price unless you can blag it. Although looking at prices it's not bad at all.

Never underestimate the new ground effect.

That said Id put it down as a good away day so hopefully we get as many up there next time.

How many was it? I havent seen a figure anywhere but would guess at around 800 odd.

Spent the rest of the weekend up in Nottingham after the Match and spent Saturday night having a few beers with some family and a few Forest supporters, I felt quite guilty being disappointed with our result as most of the Forest lot were looking suicidal compared ! A few Derby fans were still around the city centre later on so it made my day at Burton seem very normal and bland. Thought we played really well for half hour but really needed to get something for the amount of pressure we had. Their second apart from being a gift was just at that time when you want to come out all guns blazing like the first half, it was one of those away days that you still sort of enjoy without getting anything from it. A win this weekend and hopefully the start of another winning run.
