You reckon he'll last that long there? No doubt his shorts wont be ironed the way he likes them next week and he'll have  a strop again

My reaction was the same Sutton. We'll see how long he lasts! It's probably best for STFC if he goes there and settles well really. Here's hoping.

We've got him out of the way and with somebody else hopefully picking up some of the wage. Its better than him sitting around in London doing F'all. Hopefully he'll do well and somebody will buy him in January.

Regardless of the rights and wrongs of this case, I can't believe we signed someone with known baggage and then ship him out at the first sign of the baggage we knew he had. How is that good management?

It might not be good management Chalkies, fact is though he is about 8 matches into his managerial career....so get ready for a few more gaffs before the seasons out.
Personally i feel he had no choice but to get him away from the club.

I see that side of things, but Paolo and the board were put in a very difficult position. We were on a tough losing streak, and if PDC's words are to be believed then Calrke was causing numerous problems behind the scenes. Then he came out and aired some of the dirty laundry in public. From that point, Clarke was only going to cause concerns amongst the squad and amongst the fans.

Sounds like one of Stelios' Easyjet slogans.

Clarke was signed with baggage and given the chance to prove his doubters wrong but from day 1 made no effort to 're-align' his attitude during training but was given the benefit of the doubt and selected for the squad.

His public outburst and unwillingness to resolve it by being man enough to enter the changing room meant he lost all credibility with his team mates - they didn't back him, they backed the manager and he couldn't understand why, as they were all being made to run the next day.

Shipping him out was the only option - the last thing we need is a self pitying player dragging the rest of the team down no matter how good their pedigree (although we were yet to see that after the first game)
