To be honest I've never been impressed with any of our adidas gear, it's awful. The stick on badges make all of the clothing look so cheap and this explains it.  I said to a mate of mine when I saw the quality of stuff it's like adidas had a load of old shirts left over in the warehouse and stuck on a Swindon badge, and it appears to be true. Just didn't expect the Swansea badge to still be on the tops, underneath the tcky cheap looking STFC badges.

What is really worrying is that Swansea have only started using adidas this season so this stuff has either been returned by swansea or we got it by mistake & capitislised on it by putting the badge over the top.

2 coats found with the wrong badges, been investigated by adidas and it was a mistake when putting the order together.  Swansea don't even use/sell those jackets, and have only signed up with Adidas this year.

One thing for sure is, that this would have blown over without any comment if the fan that publisized would have just gone back to the shop and swapped his jacket.  Because of this, and the washbag picking up on it this it has now jepordised the renewing of our contract with adidas, which they are talking about at the moment.  Apparently due to this "fan", Swansea, Stoke, Rangers and other major clubs have contacted adidas to ask for an investigation, and adidas are not happy with STFC because of the bad publicity (that has been raised by one of it's own fans)

Adidas have given us the best kits in my memory.  It looks like we will be back to tin pot kits after next season.  The manager of the club shop ain't happy.  Oh she would also had some choice words for Fatbury  :D

On another note, apparently our away kit next year is something special.  Picked by the shop manager who chose the blue third shirt 2 seasons ago, and our away shirt this season so she has good taste.  The shite home shirt last season was picked by Fitton.  ;D

I agree with you, but it's got fuck all to do with little old Swindon and I don't know where you are coming from with that.  If you are happy with fans making the club look like mugs to other fans out there as well as damaging future deals for the clubs then fair enough.  Publicising this is the same as booing the players while the game is still going on, makes no sense.

Don't get me wrong, If a major manufacturer has fucked up then I am all for creating a hoo ha about it.  But when there is any chance of making the club you support look bad, when it could affect sales of goods which affects the finances of the club and when it potentially harms any future deals that the club try to put in place I don't see the need to publicise and shout about it.  Just go back, point out the problem and let the club deal with it.  The club were totally unaware before they took the jackets back, at least give them a chance to sort it out before shouting about it.

I was approached by the supporter, as were several other news outlets, with his pictures and evidence that Adidas had fucked up their merchandise for STFC to ultimately endorse, then sell.

If Adidas are now getting in a hissy fit for the bad publicity, which incidently was their fault, then I'd rather STFC be supplied by a more professional company.

While you say "only two jackets", what really pisses me off is that no recall has been issued by STFC or Adidas for these jackets. STFC have only publicised their refund and exchanges offer via Twitter, with NO mention on the Official Club Website or notice in the Club Superstore. Have to disagree with most of Berniman's most, especially the 'adidas have provided us with the best kit in living memory' point.  Sorry but I think we've been caught up in the brand here. Yes it's nice to have an adidas kit but come on we've basically got left over merchandise which has had a cheap iron on badge stuck on - which doesn't justify the prices they charge.

I went in the club shop before yesterdays game. Whilst the replica shirts are nice, I won't be buying one due to the totally naff iron on badge.

Some of the leisure wear's nice too, but the club badge is on the right hand side, instead of the left.

The badge should always be on the left hand side Spence! Look at polo shirts produced by Adidas for Chelsea and Liverpool and that's what you'll see. Our leisure wear is just generic stock with the Adidas logo over your heart and the club badge ironed on the right.

First post here. Bit of a brave one judging by what I've seen.

Only joined because someone recently told me about my jacket being mentioned on here. Thought I'd straighten a few things up.

My coat hanger is next to a window. I first discovered the Swansea badge underneath when the sun was shining through. I did not purposely shine a lamp underneath looking for anything. That would be strange.

I actually sent a picture to Swindon, The Washbag and Gary Rose on twitter. I was pretty shocked and disgusted at the time and it was pretty much a natural reaction. I wanted to shout it out and that was the only way I really thought of. I called up my friend as he bought the same coat only a few days before me and he had the same problem.

The first person to react was The Washbag, who I co-operated with and they wrote the article. Nothing back from Swindon until the day of the Rotherham game when they posted about taking them back. Nothing to me personally, just the general message.

I took it back but my friend had already swapped his back, so I walked in there with mine looking like I just believed the twitter hype and just wanted a new coat. Woman was a little shitty with me without being too obvious. Said I didn't mean to be an asshole but I paid £30 for a Swindon Town jacket and that's kinda what I wanted. Got even more shitty with me when I got the light out on my phone and checked the new coat. Didn't see the harm in checking. Would have been even more pissed if I had the same problem twice.

After this Gary Rose sent me a message asking for contact details and said he was following up on the story. I explained everything, even that it had been exchanged and he never got back to me after that.

Some may not agree with the way I went about things. Some think it's perfectly fine. I don't see why I would pay £30 for a Swindon jacket if I wasn't a Swindon fan, as some have claimed.

It's no worse than people moaning about the shit food from inside the town end, or having a moan at the team when we play bad and lose. I'm pretty sure word would have got around internet or no internet, no need to justify what happened.

But don't hang your club merchandise near a window in future you cunt ;)

The story came and went within a couple of days because it quickly became apparent that the incident was isolated.  If there were hundreds of other examples, many would have come forward.

It was the right thing to raise the issue and Gary Rose and The Washbag did the right thing to air it in the way they did.  I don't think anyone comes out of this badly, least of all TownYsend.  I'd have done the same.
