For etoo.

Fucking madness.

There is a premium to pay for attracting players to Dagestan.....Steve Gibson used to have a similar problem at Middlesboro.

It's true though.

Anzhi Makhachkala? I give it six months.

£384k a week will certainly buy a lot of scarves and gloves for those cold winter months.

...and a force field from the pending abuse. They brought Roberto Carlos to tears earlier this year.

he's get abuse from even his own fans. bad move in my opinion. Although for 384k a week, i'd let it slide.

It's fucking expensive over there now, with designer brands twice as expensive as London. There's no middle class, just rich and poor.

Just like before the Revolution.

The BBC reckon its just under £170k a week:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14610186.stm

Whichever it is, that is a fair old chunk.

Crazy move though, he scored about 25 goals for Inter last season and has won the Champions League twice in a row. Now to be plying his trade in a complete wasteland - the team train in Moscow and only fly to the region where the ground is to play their matches, because its such a raggedy murder zone.

I bet its tax free though whatever the figure. The Russian league could well start attracting some seriuos talent - mercenary talent - over the next few years.

You say that, but how much money is there in the Russian game? Beyond the obvious clubs like Zenit and Spartak Moscow, very few clubs have the serious cash that even Wigan and Bolton can throw around.

you're forgetting this Dagestan lot. You've got to launder the money somehow and football is dirty enough to launder a load. I think we'll see the Russian leagie getting more high profile over the coming years. The wealth will spread.

Russian football is set for a massive boom in the next few years I reckon. Lots of oil barons and whatnot fuelling the game there. It's not too much different to how the game in the middle east has grown, only with the added carrot of the champions league to entice the top calibre players

Hadn't forgotten them, just don't envisage that becoming much of a norm. Maybe I'll be proved wrong, but I'd be surprised if more than 2 or 3 Russian clubs are seriously competitive in Europe in 5 years time.

Zenit won the Europa League a few years back. That's pretty competitive. And the Moscow's always seem to give our teams tough games in the Champions League.

Why not just round it up to £400k a week. £384k seems a random figure.  :D

It's €384,000.

Still, that's about £330,000.
