JEREMY Wray will be answering your questions exclusively on the Advertiser website from 12pm today. http://www.thisisswindontownfc.co.uk/news/headlines/9162232.Q_A_with_Jeremy_Wray/?ref=rss Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: Ardiles on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 11:17:55 Fair play to JW for giving a straight answer to the question asked by 'sniffmyhoop'.
Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: Batch on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 11:18:59 Quote We do have scope to bring in players if required, which inevitably will mean that some players will be leaving – either on loan or permanently – in order to see the squad at a manageable size. My Ferrysense is tingling... Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: horlock07 on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 11:24:33 He's a stilton man...... i like him more and more
Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: Ardiles on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 11:25:46 He did himself a few favours vs Cirencester. Still not sure they will want to part company.
Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: Benzel on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 11:28:56 I don't think Ferry will leave.
Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: LucienSanchez on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 11:29:53 He's thrown Dairylea into the favourite cheese debate... is this a worrying sign?
Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: london_red on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 11:30:08 Fair play to JW for giving a straight answer to the question asked by 'sniffmyhoop'. And to the question about matchday prices. He does allude to what some people speculated, that £25 won't be the price for every game, just the bigger ones - from JW: Quote The £25 headline price will apply to certain matches Quote the club has always made different pricing options available for tickets as he season progresses Would also just like to clarify that the London Red who seems to have got into a slagging match in the comments of the QnA article isn't me! Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: Reg Smeeton on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 11:32:06 He's thrown Dairylea into the favourite cheese debate... is this a worrying sign? Think it is....I'd have had Wray down as a La Vache Qui Rit man. Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: horlock07 on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 11:32:47 'The truth is it is far easier to move prices down during the season where appropriate than to attempt to move them up.'
Also suggests that if this is a huge issue they may come down a bit... Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: Ginginho on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 11:32:50 He's thrown Dairylea into the favourite cheese debate... is this a worrying sign? Aren't we all partial to a bit of dairylea from time to time? Nowt wrong with that. I think you're worrying over nothing. No. You'll be owning up to a thing for Kraft cheese slices next :) Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: horlock07 on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 11:36:12 No. You'll be owning up to a thing for Kraft cheese slices next :) You cannot beat them on a BBQ burger, the cheaper the better if possible the Sainsbury Basic ones.... its a dirty pleasure Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: dave_bambers_right_sock on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 11:36:30 He's thrown Dairylea into the favourite cheese debate... is this a worrying sign? Depends if its the spread or the triangles at least it wasn't Babybel Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: Ginginho on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 11:37:15 Depends if its the spread or the triangles at least it wasn't Babybel Exactly. If he'd have said "I'm partial to cheese strings" i'd be handing my season ticket back. Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: LucienSanchez on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 11:38:21 I agree with the cheap american cheese on a BBQ'd burger... beautiful.

Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: horlock07 on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 11:39:53 Depends if its the spread or the triangles at least it wasn't Babybel Just had my first Babybel for years..... it was fantastic, there are times when any cheese will do. Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: Ardiles on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 11:41:04 Would also just like to clarify that the London Red who seems to have got into a slagging match in the comments of the QnA article isn't me! Think there was always a risk of mistaken identity when you chose a username like that! (Clue: quite a lot of Town fans in London.) ;) Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: Ginginho on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 11:41:27 You cannot beat them on a BBQ burger, the cheaper the better if possible the Sainsbury Basic ones.... its a dirty pleasure  No other cheese tastes as good on a burger. I can't explain it, but it's a fact. Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: wiggy on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 11:41:32 Dairylea spread (or a supermarket own brand version) is an ever present in our fridge.

Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: Parkin09 on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 12:25:44 hahahaha, he is coming out with some absolute corkers.
I especially like the reply to people in TE getting 'treated like dogs' Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: SuggWillSugg MBE on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 12:27:27 Quote isthatyoulovesey: Why are we treated like dogs in the Town End an yet charged almost as much for the privilege? I personally don't think its that bad? The Chicken Balti pies are actually rather nice and everyone loves a dirty CG burger now and again!
Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: Parkin09 on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 12:35:58 They don't have anything else to moan about since they got over the 'blow your socks off' comment.
Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: ghanimah on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 12:38:43 I don't get why there are so many moaners re the food at the CG? I personally don't think its that bad? The Chicken Balti pies are actually rather nice and everyone loves a dirty CG burger now and again! The food in the town end is atrocious - often the burgers and hot dogs have stale bread, no onions etc and for the 'privilege' we're charged a price that is ridiculous. Of all the great things this board have done, in my experience, food is one thing that has deteriorated. Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: Batch on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 12:48:02 I don't get why there are so many moaners re the food at the CG? I personally don't think its that bad? The Chicken Balti pies are actually rather nice and everyone loves a dirty CG burger now and again! The pies are good. Have to disagree and say I think the burgers and hot dogs are rank. And a bit pricey too. That said, allowing the catering vans in the car park is good. As is the food hole in the wall in the Winners (or whatever its called). Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: LucienSanchez on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 12:49:28 I don't get why there are so many moaners re the food at the CG? I personally don't think its that bad? The Chicken Balti pies are actually rather nice and everyone loves a dirty CG burger now and again! Me neither... a) it isn't that bad in an emergency, and b) i don't go to the ground to have my lunch. There are pubs and chippies nearby, and a really decent pork bap on offer by the club shop. Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: Arch Stanton on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 12:49:44 Not ever had a prob with the food myself - but not had a burger in yonks, tend to go for a Steak n' Kidney pie - which is always nice. Not much can go wrong with a pie though, even the 16 year olds behind the counter can manage it successfully - heat it through, open the packet, take inflated price from consumer, job done....
Not suffered any vicious stomach cramps yet... Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: Huwwy on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 12:54:16 Not suffered any vicious stomach cramps yet... I almost shat myself on quite a few occassions at the CG last season, but that was due more to our 'defence' than any over priced pies Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: LJ9 on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 12:56:47 So good to see JW has a sense of humour...

Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: Batch on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 15:25:29 I didn't think the questions were too unreasonable Tans.
edit: One interesting point: "I would prefer to see seven subs not least because we must have six home-grown players in the starting 16 and 18 may prove easier. " Have we got that many home grown players :) Point though, will we be forced to pick a weaker squad just to satisfy the criteria? I'll have t go through Johnny's squad list to work out home many home grown we have later.. Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: suttonred on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 16:20:14 I thought there were some decent questions and some excellent answers there from Mr Wray, and he certainly has a sense of humour, taking out the seats for the oxford game etc :)

" Have we got that many home grown players :) Point though, will we be forced to pick a weaker squad just to satisfy the criteria? I'll have t go through Johnny's squad list to work out home many home grown we have later.. I always thought it was a minimum of 4 rather 6 home grown players so just had a look on the football league website and it says the following:- "32.7 Home Grown Players. Each Club shall, with effect from the commencement of Season 2009/2010 be required to nominate a minimum of four Home Grown Players on their Team Sheet of Players for all League Competition Matches (including Play Off Matches)." I would assume that De Vita would be classed as homegrown because of the time he spent at Blackburn and so would McCormack but Ferry and Caddis would not be classed as homegrown as it applies to being at English and Welsh clubs for 3 years under the age of 21. I make it that we currently have 9 players that would not be classed as homegrown so whether its 4 or 6 required we should be okay. Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: chalkies_shorts on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 20:08:39 Stilton and Dairylea - interesting. I think Mr Wray is a proper man ( Stilton ) who is in touch with his feminine side ( Dairylea ) but not in a Bummer way.
Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: DV on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 20:32:15 I registered to ask a question about what plans we had for January if we werent meeting our targets.
All Wray said was we'll worry about that at the time. Which certainly wasnt the sort of answer I was looking for or expecting, even if you have full confidence in Plan A (which I do for the record) there still needs to be a Plan B. I also mentioned whether we'd turn down bids for our top players but I believe that got completely ignored. Much more important than the fucking food! Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: jayohaitchenn on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 20:33:32 Does anyone know Jeremy's email address at the club? Ahem. Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: cheltred69 on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 20:45:45 Interesting quote from Wray:
"But inevitably the squad will get pruned down in the coming weeks." At first glance seems a bit odd that we're signing up a lot of players on 2 year contracts with the intention of offloading some of them quickly. Presumably will be on loan, and maybe mainly the younger ones, but surely is likely to cost a bit to have players under contract that we won't be using. Which certainly wasnt the sort of answer I was looking for or expecting, even if you have full confidence in Plan A (which I do for the record) there still needs to be a Plan B. Agree with needing a plan B. I have every confidence we won't need one but you just need to look back at last year for evidence of needing one. Wilson didn't have a plan B and when things started to go wrong he had no idea of how to put them right. This continued until he left which was by then in hindsight too late. Hart then came along with his plan A but again forgot or simply didn't have a plan B and we all know the result :suicide: Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: Huwwy on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 23:07:57 Hart then came along with his plan A Are you sure about this? From memory, I think that may be massively overstating his planning skills. Hart then came along with his plan A but again forgot or simply didn't have a plan B and we all know the result :suicide: what do you say though, you get to january and if we're not meeting our targets then we're not in the play-offs or even lower. there's so many different scenarios that could happen between now and then that you can't have a plan b in place for 5 or 6 months down the line. would you be happy if he said 'we'll sack di canio and his staff but because of the pay-off for that i'll be running team affairs until next season'? ott i know but i don't see the club publicly declaring a plan b for in 6 months time productive at all, it's not the right message to be coming out of the club at all? Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: DV on Thursday, July 28, 2011, 00:56:12 Having no plan B post January/Austin is one of the main reason we're down here in the first place. We sold him before we had a replacement lined up, bid for Mason got knocked back and panic signed Benyon.
They should have multiple back up plans for just about every possible outcome between now and January. If the board want to get promotion right first time (and they do) then meticulous planning for everything is needed. Maybe they do have these but don't want to undermine Di Canio/the team so won't even talk about them publicly. At a minimum Di Canio should have a transfer kitty and wage budget left available for the January window. Title: Re: Adver News: QA with Jeremy Wray Post by: LucienSanchez on Thursday, July 28, 2011, 08:12:15 Ahem.
