McCormack: We can follow Blackpool and Swansea

ALAN McCormack is determined to put behind him a disappointing season at Charlton by recapturing his best form and helping Swindon rise through the leagues.

One step at a time. Getting out of this league is all that matters.

One game at a time.....Crewe is hugely important, more so than usual.  We're on a downward spiral, and that needs to be halted asap.....it can only be done by winning matches.  You can have all the family fun days and management huddles you want, but Gradi will bring a tidy football outfit, who will know what they're doing, but like all Crewe sides of recent years will give you a chance.

We need to take that chance....you've rightly pointed out Spence the difficult looking nature of our start, and we've already got some of the imports going lame......could be difficult days ahead.

Kind of.  But most of last season's squad have spiralled off to other clubs.

Isn't that a bit like saying I need to pull my finger out at work because the bloke I recently bought a house from wasn't very good at his job?

No.

The downward spiral embroiled not just the team but the entire club so even though we've signed and ditched so many players we still need to turn this poor form around.

It can only be halted by winning matches...and for that we'll have to wait and see.

We've won all our pre-season games.

The team togetherness is there and Di Canio will have us fit, drilled and up for it.

No worries here. You need to cheer up you pessimistic miserable old fool :)

Love the fact DV is telling someone else to cheer up.

How times have changed.

Thanks for the advice, but forming an opinion on the football team I support, and one's general state of wellbeing are not necessarily the same thing.

Cirencester being the best team we have played so far... Even last season's squad would have won the friendlies we've had so far.

Friendlies mean naff all regardless of the quality or lack of quality of the opposition. In the past we have done things like beat or put up good shows 'premier league' teams, and still end up nearly relegated. The T*dd year being prime example (beat Saints 3-1, only lost 1-0 to the Hammers, drew with Cardiff and WBA. Beat Bath City ).

The result means nothing.

I went last night and on Saturday because we have so many new players to take a look at.

I liked the Algerian bloke and Esajajajajs who popped his shoulder.

Flint looked a giant...

For some reason when reading that it sounded like a a speech in a dramatic film (Independents Day style), trumpets were playing in the background of my mind. But very good points made. We need a win especially infront of the home crowd. Things are very exciting right now but it could go sour very quickly.

The main difference I see with this seasons friendlies is that we haven't conceded any goals. In the past we nearly always ship a goal or two against 'inferior' opposition - Supermarine/Cirencester et al.

This year no team (so far) has even got close. I await the 6-0 beating dished out by Reading now.

I've seen us play Marine and Ciren a couple/few times each now and this year we've dealt with them both in a better manner than any other encounter.
