I still haven't purchased mine. If Ferry goes I won't be going to the cg again, only away games.

I live in Oxfordshire, the ST will no doubt be sent to me in an envelope covered in Swindon logos therefore I don't expect mine to be delivered, like last time.

Excuse my ignorance but how would the swipe machine know if an adult uses a childs card ? And also does this system mean those who want to go out for a smoke at half time or anytime during the match could just use their card again to come back in ? Like the card idea, better than carrying a ticket book around on match days.

You mean you haven't done your DNA sample and retina scan yet?

Not sure, the only places I've used scan thingies are Reading (can't remember) and Leeds. The latter had somebody watching you through, maybe the system gives some kind of visual indication as to what it just scanned, maybe not.

There was however no system to protect against dwarfs stacking themselves up under a big trench coat.

Called in to collect our tickets yesterday, should have been three in total, they gave me two but couldn't find mine!!!  Jock spent ten minutes looking for it before giving up!!!  Told me to come back next week and they would check it out, when I got home it was on the doormat, posted!!!!!  Jokingly I asked him what happens in the event of a power cut or software cocking up, the answer was nobody will be getting in!!!!!  Is there a special entrance for season tickets?

Perhaps when a child's card is swiped a barrier with blades drop down to about five foot off the ground, lots of headless knights running around screaming !

No chance of me becoming an author, I was going to say running around screaming with their legs chopped off.

The Royal Mail sorting office in Scumford is one of the most corrupt outside of London.

I take it the matchday tickets come with a swipe-able bar code now?

I thought they closed it? Hence why they all went to Dorcqn?

Something that was long overdue.

I spoke to the ticket office today, the cards gave a bar code on one end which fits into a reader. I did question the reliability but they said a number of clubs have them, Leeds being one for 3 years. All will be ok...

Without stating the obvious, the amount of people who still haven't collected their season tickets seems alot. I would expect a huge queue on Saturday if that the case. Get down the CG early.

I'm going to try and collect mine today I think. Might ring first though as I get the impression matt_jada is implying they don't have them yet.

They do have them, unless you've bought it in the last couple of days I would assume.

Does seem an awful lot behind the counter reader for collection so Saturday will be manic.

Alot of people too tight to pay the extra £1 for them to post it by the looks of things.

If the queue moves as quick as the Reading game then they'll be delaying the kick off by a couple of hours i should think.

I like going to collect it. Mainly because I don't trust the postman to actually deliver it to me safely - it is an expensive item to have sent standard mail. But I also like the ritual of going to the ground to get it because it makes me realise the season will be upon me.

Paid for mine at Reading, so 30th. Surely too soon if matt_jada paid for his on the 28th. :(

Fair play Si, can see your thinking there. Would do the same if i lived local. I'll be happy i have mine firmly wedged in wallet as i'm about to take in another pint on saturday mind, rather than standing in a bloody queue.

Fuck it, im going to go and pick mine up this afternoon even though its a 45 min drive.

Cant be arsed with wasting valuable beer time on saturday.

Yeah i paid by phone on the 28th, and got told to pop in early this week.
On Monday i rang them and was told it was available for pickup but a completely different when i got down there.
He told me to pop down Friday at the earliest, but ring first, if not Saturday.

I ordered mine on Saturday, on finance. I got/sent the forms yesterday so I guess I've got no chance of my ST being ready this Saturday. If it wasn't ready, the ticket office told me to buy a ticket for Crewe and then get a refund later, when the ST arrives.

I just hate the thought of queuing for nothing to see if my ST is ready, so perhaps the club can put a notice up if the tickets ordered last weekend aren't ready.

Very excited about mine this year. My uncle - who first brought me to the CG as a nine year old Londoner many moons ago - is joining myself and my son for our first full season together with ST's in the Arkells. Very, very excited!

I'm similarly excited Mark H, will also be my first season with a ST after only making about half a dozen home games a season for the last few years, can't wait to be down the CG on a more regular basis.

Glad I got mine posted. It does set you back a few extra pennies but saves the effort, bother and hassle of getting of your arse to get it.
