Title: Under 18s vs Reading Under 18s
Post by: lazyboy on Saturday, July 16, 2011, 21:58:41
Got throughly spanked 5 nil by a very impressive looking Reading team today, first game for both teams, OK Reading managed to put out 2 completely different teams in each half and have just come back from 4 days away at RAF Brize Norton doing nothing but fitness stuff, but they passed Swindon off the park especially in the second half. Swindon ending trying to kick lumps out of the opposition for the last 10 mins and Bodin was not a happy bunny, apparently 4 of the Swindon boys are still on holiday, WTF do they want to become footballers or what ?? most annoying

Reading are an Academy set-up so you would expect a gap in quality, right?

The swindon team was a mixture of last seasons u16s and 15s.

So whos fault is that , well the under 16s are this seasons first year scholars, apparently a very good group  and if you allow 4 of you players in a not very big squad to go holiday when they should be training and playing games, then you are going to bring in younger players. You can only play whats in front of you

Think you will find 1 injured and 1 had to pull out for health reasons.

What age is that tall center back that's meant to be decent? Did he play?

Absolutely no reason to be bitter, just thought I would let you know how the youths got on in their first game, after all there are the next set of first team players

No they're not. Most of them are the next lot of Supermarine and Chippenham players.
