The game is well over a month away. We haven't even played any warm up games or even have a squad in place.

We haven't even played any warm up games or even have a squad in place. I really dont mind people talking about the game this far in advance as it has been a long time coming. What I seriously object to is "boys" crawling out of the woodwork and going all Green Street on here. Its uncalled for and in all honesty pathetic Title: Re: Predictions for the Oxford game(s) Post by: Costanza on Thursday, July 7, 2011, 08:50:22 Its uncalled for and in all honesty pathetic Can you imagine what TEF will be like during the week before the game.... and if we lose, the week after that. :crash: Title: Re: Predictions for the Oxford game(s) Post by: Bob's Orange on Thursday, July 7, 2011, 09:15:10 I really dont mind people talking about the game this far in advance as it has been a long time coming. Fair point about talking about the derby so far in advance as well. Guess as I've never been to a derby I don't quite have the same 'edge' as a lot of people on here have about the games. Title: Re: Predictions for the Oxford game(s) Post by: Ardiles on Thursday, July 7, 2011, 09:15:15 Just move this to General Discussion, or something...because it's got very little to do with football or STFC. All this chav chat is starting to get on my nerves already. Are we going to have to face another 6 weeks of this?
1) They will not sell out of their ticket allocation Barely football related. 2) They will not bring a firm Not football related. 3) The biggest mob on the day will be the police Not football related. 4) There will be no trouble Not football related. 5) We will finally find our passion again Never lost mine. 6) They will score first, but we will win 3:1 At last. So you are interested in football. 7) The police will act like total thugs Not football related. 8) The return match will see our young ones witness the true white trash of a council estate Oxford is Not football related. 9) They will have a firm Not football related. 10) Some innocent Swindon fans will get a hard time Not football related. Whilst I absolutely agree we dont particularly want to degenerate into the two sets of nawty boys chruning out their usual posturing spiel at one another - there are other forums for that I believe - like it or not, one of the talking points in the game against pox will be the potential for trouble ...its part and parcel and if people want to discuss it (in sensbile terms) then so be it. If people want to talk about this sort of stuff on here they will, if they dont they wont and the topic will quietly drift away. The forum has a nice way of restoring order. Oh and finally...it may not all be football related, but it is matchday related.... Title: Re: Predictions for the Oxford game(s) Post by: LucienSanchez on Thursday, July 7, 2011, 09:34:01 Quick question regarding all away support coming to the County Ground this season... they have a new bar - Bar 71, and for the life of me i can't work out what the hell it's named after, and can't find an explanation on the official website.
So where is the name from? Title: Re: Predictions for the Oxford game(s) Post by: Nemo on Thursday, July 7, 2011, 09:34:56 Is it the number of football league clubs minus ourselves?

So where is the name from? It was the total cost of the refurbishment. Just getting on my nerves a little. Maybe I'm getting old. But you're right...I should just ignore it. Title: Re: Predictions for the Oxford game(s) Post by: Paolo69 on Thursday, July 7, 2011, 09:39:57 The year the north stand was built maybe?
Title: Re: Predictions for the Oxford game(s) Post by: LucienSanchez on Thursday, July 7, 2011, 09:41:43 A quick wiki search tells me you're correct! Bit tenuous...
Title: Re: Predictions for the Oxford game(s) Post by: Parkin09 on Thursday, July 7, 2011, 09:45:09 Surely it's just the other league clubs minus ourselves? or was that what you were referring to as tenuous?
Title: Re: Predictions for the Oxford game(s) Post by: Paolo69 on Thursday, July 7, 2011, 09:45:52 A lucky guess. Wasn't the first thing that came to mind thats for sure.

No Swindon fans arrested. Scores of Ox fans arrested for "going equipped to eat Mars Bars" and similar offences; > Afterwards, general feeling that the day failed to live up to expectations. So where is the name from? making reference to the 71 other football league clubs that may visit the County Ground. I think it's confused a few people because people normally make reference to 'the 92' - which includes 20 premier league teams. |
