Title: Oasis Post by: Kinky Tom on Thursday, July 7, 2005, 21:42:00 So the highlight of the summer is nearing us ladies and gentlemen, and I cannot contain my excitement. This will be the 4th time I'll have seen Oasis and I'm truly expecting this to out-do the previous gigs by a country mile.
A mate at work has said that the bowl website is saying Oasis will come on at 8, not sure if this is true, if it is I hope it's so they can play a mammouth gig lasting a couple of hours. Now we all know Whits was at Manchester on Saturday, and he's going again thie weekend - commitment - I applaud you, you lad! Anyhow, what time did they start at the City of Manchester Stadium, and roughly how long was the set? Cheers. Title: Oasis Post by: Whits on Thursday, July 7, 2005, 21:46:31 Quote Now we all know Whits was at Manchester on Saturday, and he's going again thie weekend - commitment - I applaud you, you lad! i do it for swindon, might as well for Oasis to!! Quote Anyhow, what time did they start at the City of Manchester Stadium, and roughly how long was the set? The gig started about 8.30-9ish, finished at about 10.30-10.45 (it was a sunday, different laws on licensing for gigs). I would expect this to be a bit longer and if they play the same song at the end its well worth waiting for 8) 8) 8) 8) Title: Oasis Post by: Kinky Tom on Thursday, July 7, 2005, 21:54:01 Is it a cover by an old band? First and last letters of the song title being M and N?

Title: Oasis Post by: Kinky Tom on Thursday, July 7, 2005, 22:00:45 Played it to finish at Sheffield in 2002. Fucking quality!

Title: Oasis Post by: Whits on Thursday, July 7, 2005, 22:19:06 ...........
Title: Oasis Post by: Ben Wah Balls on Thursday, July 7, 2005, 22:20:20 oh first and last letters., well you've given it away now. My name is would be a much better cover I think, they've been doing that one for ages.
It's Monkey Gone To Heaven by the Pixies. I was thinking married with children by oasis but that wouldn't be a cover and is one of their worst songs anyway. If they wanted to do only songs beginning with m and ending with n how about Mr Tambourine Man by Bob Dylan? Title: Oasis Post by: Whits on Thursday, July 7, 2005, 22:21:38 deleted it now! tis a great cover though!

Title: Oasis Post by: Kinky Tom on Friday, July 8, 2005, 11:39:54 Quote OASIS MILTON KEYNES LINE UP 8 July 2005 The Zutons have replaced Babyshambles as the Special Guest at this Saturdays Oasis show at Milton Keynes Bowl. A spokesperson for Oasis's management said that Babyshambles failed to show without any warning or explanation at the Oasis Southampton Rose Bowl last Wednesday. As a result they don't want to run the risk of disappointing fans with another no show for such an important event this Saturday. Other show times are not affected and the concert will continue as planned. Jackpot! Title: Oasis Post by: McLovin on Friday, July 8, 2005, 11:48:46 Good stuff. I was in a shit position at Glasto and sound for the Zutons was rubbish. More hot Abi action... 8)
Tom, where did you post the map to get to the bowl? I can't find it. Title: Oasis Post by: Kinky Tom on Friday, July 8, 2005, 11:50:49 Here you go mate:

Title: Oasis Post by: Kinky Tom on Sunday, July 10, 2005, 10:52:41 Wowza - only once have a had a better time in my life, when Swindon won the play-offs.
Got to the bowl about 10:50, nice and early. Anyhow got into the pit at the front and was about 6 feet from the barrier. If any of you saw someone waving a brown hat around on the big screens when the crowd was shown then you spotted me, otherwise nevermind. Title: Oasis Post by: Whits on Sunday, July 10, 2005, 11:03:11 Quote If any of you saw someone waving a brown hat around on the big screens when the crowd was shown then you spotted me, otherwise nevermind. :( i think i was standing next to someone from the forum but need to look through the pictures thread to see if its true :? Title: Oasis Post by: McLovin on Sunday, July 10, 2005, 11:15:49 Why would you think that Whits??
I was there, about 3 rows from the barrierafter the pit at the front. It was fucking ace! Title: Oasis Post by: Sussex on Sunday, July 10, 2005, 11:31:04 Did they do My Generation? or I am The Walrus?
(lucky bastards who were there) Title: Oasis Post by: Whits on Sunday, July 10, 2005, 11:32:08 Quote Why would you think that Whits?? i'm sure i've seen a picture of them but never spoken to them if you know what i mean, can't find anything on the pictures thread :? maybe i'm just going mental  Title: Oasis Post by: Whits on Sunday, July 10, 2005, 11:33:00 Quote Did they do My Generation? yes :D :D Sonic, i tried to ring ya but getting reception was fooking impossible :x Title: Oasis Post by: Kinky Tom on Sunday, July 10, 2005, 11:33:09 Yep, My Generation to finish - formidable!
Going to up about 5 this afternoon to get a ticket from a tout I reckon and do it all again. Title: Oasis Post by: Whits on Sunday, July 10, 2005, 11:34:19 i got offered a ticket for £20 yesterday, going well cheap, i think they had real trouble selling this one out
Title: Oasis Post by: McLovin on Sunday, July 10, 2005, 11:35:29 You could get tickets yesterday for cheaper than if you ordered them (if you include booking fee)
How good was 'Meaning of Soul'?! 8) Title: Oasis Post by: Whits on Sunday, July 10, 2005, 11:38:00 The important of being idle - This one goes out to babyshambles!!
At least i turn up to gigs, i might not finish them but at least i turn up!! 8) Title: Oasis Post by: Kinky Tom on Sunday, July 10, 2005, 15:30:54 Right I'm definately going again tonight. Leaving about half five so we can see the Coral too.
Think I'll just hang back tonight though, I couldn't possibly put my body through last nights extasy I don't think. Trouble with last night being so good is that it is surely going to be a very long time befor I can feel that way agian - I was literally inches away from crying I was so happy. The touts outside the bowl end up selling the tickets for 10 or 20 quid at most of the concerts. Bingo! Title: Oasis Post by: Spencer_White on Sunday, July 10, 2005, 18:10:02 I couldnt do it two nights in a row (ahem, Oasis that is). Takes too much out of you, especially if you go out after.
I declare I saw the best gig of the lot anyway. Saturday in Manchester - cant beat it. Anyone hear about all the trouble at the Soton gig? Southampton and Pompey kicking off everywhere. Title: Oasis Post by: Asher on Sunday, July 10, 2005, 21:43:26 As spencer will know, had 8 lads over last night before going out, watched footy dvd's beer and listened to oasis, nothing beats it! Benn blasting out oasis in teh car all day as well.
Title: Oasis Post by: Spud on Sunday, July 10, 2005, 22:20:17 I think we should get some Oasis tunes blasted out before the Home games as it would get us Town enders going even more.

Well, did it all again mate. £35 for two tickets - a sly £20 to a steward I met last night for a couple of pit wrist bands. £27.50 each to get in gon 18:00 and get in the pit again - cannot be beaten. Anyhow they were bang on form again. I was sober tonight after having a few beers yesterday, so basically I'v had the best of both worlds over the weekend. Fuck about! |
