Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: nevillew on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, 15:06:36 I "slipped" and now the panic button is stuck up my arse. I'd thought about pressing it, but I'll pass now, thanks. Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: wiggy on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, 15:09:05 I "slipped" and now the panic button is stuck up my arse. How well endowed would a forum member need to be to press it now? What if I want to press it but only have a small knob? Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: Batch on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, 16:55:22 My finger is hovering over it.
Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: Arch Stanton on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, 17:23:37 Sorry, have I missed something, why have we got a panic button?
Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: Bob's Orange on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, 17:30:30 Not even close. Its June for fucks sake!
Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: leefer on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, 18:25:42 Sorry, have I missed something, why have we got a panic button? How long have you got. Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: Arch Stanton on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, 18:30:55 How long have you got. Seriously though, is this all because Douglas has turned tail and ran, and we've got Leon Knight on trial? Really? Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: leefer on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, 18:41:35 Seriously though, is this all because Douglas has turned tail and ran, and we've got Leon Knight on trial? Really? No,of course not....but if you cannot see how dire things have become then good on you because as a Town fan of many years i can tell you that i have never felt much lower. Its only football and life goes on,i am optimistic about PDC,but not much else. Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: herthab on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, 18:46:33 No,of course not....but if you cannot see how dire things have become then good on you because as a Town fan of many years i can tell you that i have never felt much lower. Its only football and life goes on,i am optimistic about PDC,but not much else. Really Leefer? What, even during the diamond mike years, the Best Holdings fiasco, the double relegation in 1990, Macari leaving, Ardiles leaving, Hoddle leaving, Wembley last May, relegation sealed at shitty a few years back, the shit football last year, Mcmoans reign, Paul Hart, Austin fucking off and probably hundreds more? After all that you think you couldn't get much lower than you are right now? Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: Doore on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, 18:48:18 Really Leefer? After all that you think you couldn't get much lower than you are right now? Cheers herthab - that's a depressing list. What a club... Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: Arch Stanton on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, 18:51:59 I thought everyone was quite happy on Monday, full of optimism and excitement, dougs has gone and its suddenly the apocalypse. Or have a missed something really really terrible that spells certain disaster - in June.

Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: Arch Stanton on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, 19:09:58 You're right, we should be panicking like fuck! :D
Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: No Longer Posh Red on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, 19:13:28 I thought everyone was quite happy on Monday, full of optimism and excitement, dougs has gone and its suddenly the apocalypse. Or have a missed something really really terrible that spells certain disaster - in June. In fairness I think it's the bollocks messages coming from the club that's done it. Exciting signing, Brazilian Striker close to a deal, and we get Leon Fucking Knight (on trial). We want Dougie to stay, Dougie's gonna stay, oops he's off to fucking Brentford. It's one load of bollocks after another at the moment, and I think today is the straw that broke the camels back for many. We just need some positive news, and the Douglas/Knight news has over-shadowed the signing of Kamikaze our new Italian defender. Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: Arch Stanton on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, 19:16:13 In fairness I think it's the bollocks messages coming from the club that's done it. It happens all the time, its not like we've gone into administration or anything. Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: leefer on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, 19:20:03 So a year ago there we were not long after a nice pay day at Wembley,Paynter on his way and Greer to already.
Big bucks for Austin and Morrison, not forgetting a tidy sum for Henshall....so all systems go,it went sour so off goes Cuthbert,Douglas,JPM and Prutton freeing up big bucks in wages. But never mind we have Leon Knight coming on trial....no one is panicking Arch Stanton, panicking is when you have no food on the table and no fuel in the car.............but yes i am pissed off,big bucks have come through transfer fees gained and nearly doubling the attendance in recent years,so sorry for being a tad diisapointed if Leon Knight and Mr Smith from York dosn't get my juices flowing. I am hoping that Mr Di Canio does the biz like everyone else but that dosn't help me get over the complete fuck up by the board lately and the complete load of tosh about good signings and players staying. Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: chalkies_shorts on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, 19:26:36 ,,big bucks have come through transfer fees gained and nearly doubling the attendance in recent years and all pissed up against the wall ( literally in Old Town ) signing shite and paying big fat wages for gutless, useless, spineless fuckers. What a fucking waste of a season and what a waste of skin those cunts who have been thrown out of the club are. They've all hit jackpot haven't they - Notts Co, Colchester, Orient, Carlisle, Brentford - all of them smaller than us but playing in a higher league. Fuck knows how Prutton struck gold with Wednesday - fucking pikey gypo lace seller. I'm glad for JFL though. He gave 100% even if he was likely to fall over his own feet. Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: Barry Scott on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, 19:28:22 It's like that film Vice Versa, only with thisis and the TEF. And not caused by a skull but a little man with an attitude and an Irish man with eyes too far apart.
It's actually quite funny. Anyone would have thought... oh never mind, carry on. The Brazilian deal could be back on, Dougie said he wanted to stay, then went back on his word. It's end of fucking days because we've got a triallist! Woe is me. Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: BANGKOK RED on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, 19:29:29 We'll put you down as a maybe for the panic button then Leefer?

Finger nearly went through the screen BR. Come on chaps a trial for Leon.........will run his bollox off in Italy to get the contract then what...the last five years is what :headhurts: Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: Arch Stanton on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, 19:32:41 So a year ago there we were not long after a nice pay day at Wembley,Paynter on his way and Greer to already. You don't have to apologise for being disappointed in the signing of Smith or Knight, (I don't know the first thing about Smith, he could be good or bad), you're right that its hardly inspiring stuff, I'm with you on that - but there's still plenty of time to bring in other faces. If the situation is the same come the first week of August I'll be panicking also! ;) Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: Barry Scott on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, 19:35:47 That is quite possibly the funniest thing I've read today. But it could be true. Well, either that or someone turned the mong-a-tron on and when on a shooting spree. Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, 19:42:49 I'm all for giving people a chance but then that's just me. Having kids (like knight recently has) can change people or it may not.
Watching dicanio's interview where he speaks about Knight he knows damn well by the sound of it what he is like and makes it clear he has to be a different person if he wants a contract. If we can sign someone who is a nicer bloke with a simalar goalscoring record then great i would prefer us to do that but we need to be realistic we are a league 2 team we are not going to be able to sign proven league 1 and 2 goalscorers as they are all wanted in better leagues so that leaves us with having to take a gamble. Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: Samdy Gray on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, 19:49:13 I love pre-season on the TEF.
Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: BANGKOK RED on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, 19:52:05 Watching dicanio's interview where he speaks about Knight he knows damn well by the sound of it what he is like and makes it clear he has to be a different person if he wants a contract. I suspect most haven't watched it at all and are going into meltdown blindly. Di Canio is not just looking at his skills as a player. Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: BANGKOK RED on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, 19:54:46 I love pre-season on the TEF. It's great, innit. I want us to sign some real blow your sock of players, but a few more 'uninspiring' ones first please. Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: DV on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, 20:04:12 We've dismantled arguably our worst team of all time.
No panic here. David Lucas out next please. Although, I really dont like Knight and I really dont think he will be a good addition to our squad. Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: oxford_fan on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, 20:09:28 Having kids (like knight recently has) can change people or it may not. I think he already had his 2 kids when he was at Rushden, still being a cock. Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: Costanza on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, 20:32:59 I think he already had his 2 kids when he was at Rushden, still being a cock. Third time lucky :) Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: Nick Bamosomi on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, 22:09:30 I know it's been said before, but I'm going to say it again.
WE ARE IN LEAGUE TWO!! We have not just been promoted, but relegated. This time last year we were all getting excited about the summer signings and thought we had a team ready for a promotion push. Instead, when push came to shove they turned out to be a load of useless twats not willing (or able) to put up a big enough fight to keep us in League 1. Why then are they going to have any more fight in them to get us promoted back up again. Good riddance to them if they have neither the desire to stay with us or the balls to want to put things right. We may not be inspired by the signings but we ARE in League 2 and many players who may excite us will want bigger things. I am sure Di Canio will instill his apparent passion in our new team, so that we have a bunch of 11 men on the pitch who are more ready and willing than last year's dross. With any luck one (or more) of the L1 clubs they have signed for will themselves be battling relegation at the end of the season. :D Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: Ardiles on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, 10:15:46 Sorry, have I missed something, why have we got a panic button? Prompted by the 'no need to hit th panic button just yet' comments earlier yesterday. I wasn't suggesting for a second that anyone should use it. But thought it would be reassuring for people to know it was there once the hyperventilation had started. Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: Ralphy on Monday, July 11, 2011, 12:40:03 Prompted by missing out on another striker to fucking Gillingham or Dons, i'm now pressing the panic button hard.
Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: Tamworth Red Army on Monday, July 11, 2011, 12:46:41 Get your Boots ready Paolo, You may just become the oldest player manager in the land !!
Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: Ardiles on Monday, July 11, 2011, 12:49:50 Not panicking just yet, but disappointed the recruitment process has been such an uphill slog. Now expecting a measured start to the season instead of an explosive shot out of the blocks. We'll get this right, but it may take some time.

Phil Smith, Jack Smith, Jamie Vincent, Jerel Ifil, Andy Nicholas, Zaaboub, Peacock, Pook, Roberts, Corr & Blair Sturrock Fuck me, if that 11 can take us up then the current bunch (with one or two added of course) can! Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: Jimmy Glass is an Alien on Monday, July 11, 2011, 15:10:26 Can I just point out that the team that got us promoted from League Two, towards the end of the season looked a little something like this... True, but have you factored in if Lg2 has improved since our visit and what do we have beyond the first 11 if we get injuries or suspensions? I hope we are difficult to beat and entertaining. Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: Tails on Monday, July 11, 2011, 15:20:12 I watched a bit of League Two when I could last season, and to be honest, apart from Chesterfield every team I saw was fucking shit. My only concern is that some of the teams this year have made some handy signings.
Fitness and attitude is more likely to take us up than having real quality, I think. A team of Pook, Peacock, Sturrock, Corr etc... Not much quality, but tryers who had (for the most part) did a ridiculous amount of fitness work pre season under Wise. Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: Barry Scott on Monday, July 11, 2011, 15:48:45 Can I just point out that the team that got us promoted from League Two, towards the end of the season looked a little something like this... Roll on the season. Title: Re: Panic Button Post by: Abrahammer on Monday, July 11, 2011, 16:55:16 True, but have you factored in if Lg2 has improved since our visit I doubt its any better, i thought Lge 1 was fucking terrible last season and im talking about the standard of teams that came to our place not us. The Premiership is currently as poor as its been for years IMO, i think the standard of every league has dropped. |
