hello

i've recently discovered my dyson is shit and barely gets cat hair out of my carpet.
could anyone advise whether i should buy or rent a carpet cleaner or if i should get someone in to clean it for me?

Don't know about the carpet cleaning but laminate flooring might work or alternatively shave the cat, everyone loves a shaved pussy  ;D

the carpet cleaners you can buy are shit. if you carpets are really grubby get someone in to do it, my dad is a carpet cleaner and they look like new once he's been round.

but a bit of cat hair shouldn't be too much of a problem. are there not attachments with the hoover? we've got a shitty old half broken one and it does the job (we have 3 cats) with a bit of effort. failing that the sole of a clean trainer is good for getting hairs up off carpets.

all depends how dirty the carpets are and how lazy you are really.

Sounds like the brush roller in the bottom of the dyson isn't rotating - tip it on its side while switched on and check it. Simple to put a new drive band on if its not working.

do you need a new vacuum and the carpets washed? i bought a henry a few months ago and it's ace.you don't need any of this bagless la de da rubbish.
you can rent washers from the co-op,no idea if they are any good though.

arriba - i'll persist with the dyson just because i can't be arsed to spend more on a new one (but when i do look out for the thread :)) . i'll also take some initiative and contact a carpet washer/rental place, if it's mega bucks fuck it.

I would like to apologise for my unwarranted outbursts earlier in this thread. In my defence I was going through a very difficult time, as I noticed some discoloration in the white load of washing I had done.

If anyone has any tips on getting my whites back to their previously dazzling condition I would be very grateful.
