Let me put things straight about the ban.

I got into a row with two moderators at once. "ITFC Jez" deleted a harmless post because he thought it "unnecessary". I accused him of misusing his powers and referred to him as a Nazi in his modding capacity. This may have been unwise, but there were ABSOLUTELY NO ABUSIVE PMs sent, and anyone who claims there were should produce them as evidence.

Simultaneously I argued with "GMBee" for criticising my home town, even though he knew nothing about the place.

I received a condescending message telling me I was banned for three days and to "think about my behaviour"! Jumped up or what?

I then tried to join again but obviously my IP address was flagged up and I received a permanent ban. I really didn't know that was standard "punishment" for trying to set up a second membership.

Anyway, hardly the crimes of the century. Could you cut and paste this on the other board?

All I know about him is he's a Swindon fan who is in the navy! I exchanged witty banter with him on another forum until I got banned for daring to criticise moderators.

Thanks for posting this link. Essentially I annoyed two mods by having the temerity to disagree with them, went slightly overboard by calling one a "Nazi", admittedly, was banned for three days then banned permanently for breaking a re-registration rule that I didn't even know existed.

If anyone feels like posting this to the thread on FF (above), I would be grateful, but seems the mods have succeeded in getting rid of another difficult poster who actually stands up for himself. "He's not coming back. End of story" sort of says everything you need to know about the lack of tolerance by mods on that forum.

 :D  I can understand that comparing the Holocaust and the killing of millions of Russians to deleting a post on a football forum may have been a little OTT! I stand by the general message though. As a mod, to delete a post without reference to the poster, then, when challenged by that poster, to admit it was deleted because that individual mod didn't like it signals the end of debate and freedom of speech.

Any mod who acts in that way is too immature, too sensitive and / or just too stupid to fulfil the role properly.

GMBee is all of the above.

Why don't you all pm other members who also think this mod's a tool and get them to pm admin with your complaints?

Criticism of mods on that site - and that can mean simply disagreeing with them on a particular point - leads to deleted posts, locked threads and rather pathetic warnings about future conduct. It's a mods club, basically, with other posters only tolerated if they tow the line.

What's needed is a mass boycott to hit advertising revenue. Will never happen though.

This forum is the most sensibly moderated one i've used. Many are ridiculous and ruined by utter cretins given too much power.

FF is a bit more light hearted than TFF to be fair. The problem with that is though is that there is more scope for WUM and trolls on there because it's a bit more geared towards being less serious. The problem is it just leads to one big ego fest before the mods get involved. It began to go downhill when Warlord was banned and it hasn't really reached the same heights since.

I was "Oxford Fan". The guy who joined after my banning as "oxfordfan" was a completely different person and IP address. He did give me his password and I did post as "oxfordfan" once, so I guess the FF sleuthing system picked up the IP address of that one post?

Either way, however you dress it up, I was temporarily banned for calling a mod a Nazi (Godwin's Law, hardly a major crime) then fully banned for immediately trying to join again. Daft, yes. Worthy of a life ban?

And there the problem may lie. Were you the mod "Canio" on FF? If so, you thought Warlord was "dull as fuck", which was a tiny minority view judging by posts on FF. Some mods delete posts just because they think they're "dull as fuck", which is a purely personal perception.
