He's been a very good servant to the Swindon Robins and although i'm not a huge speedway fan I always aware that he was a bit of a legend for the club. The huge irony is that in over 20 years riding a speedway bike he suffered no serious injuries, and this accident happens a few short months after retirement. Like Kilby and Ashby he was loyal and a team player to the end.
Didn't want to see him fall into the same camp as Rolf Gramstad (broken back), Martin Hewlett (died at trackside),Tadeus Taodorovitz (sp) (died when crashed through a fence), Geoff Bouchard (punctured lung) and to a lesser extent Steen Mastrup (broken body everytime he came good).
