Could well be David Mooney, released by Reading. Scored 14 in 30 for Colchester last season.

They also let Ingimarsson go. He'd be ace.

A lad who has scored goals at a good rate in league one will not step down to league two surely?!

I guess the first signing will show us all the sort of 'quality' we can expect, got an uneasy feeling that it wont be anywhere close to the names being put out there at the moment

Spot on with this...we`ll find out the degree of quality once first signing has been made

it depends if PDC can convince them. He's a masive name in the footballing world and him alone could secure the services of many players just because they want to play for him.

Nothing to do about stepping down a level in my opinion. It'll only be for one season anyway

Wont be McDonald - Norwich want him to be in League 1 next season - otherwise he wouldve stayed at Gillingham

only rumour Ive heard is it could be Mathieu Manset from Reading

I really don't like the way this firm keeps leaking info on Twitter.  Deals like this should be done in private.  All looks a bit Mickey Mouse when there's a steady stream of commentary.

Manset is French thought the player was English?

To be fair to the guy he is keeping his cards very close to his chest and no names have been mentioned etc fair play to him for responding to questions from fans without giving anything away.

I think it's hardly a secret that we, or any other club, are looking at signing players.

The same Manset theyve signed on a 2 and a half year deal in January?

Not bloody likely

Didnt say it would be a permanent signing for Manset - and not likely to be the signing that is Imminent now

Just saw this...........

HIGHLY-rated Chelsea youth prospect Milan Lalkovic could be in line for a loan move to Swindon Town.

The 18-year-old Slovak forward has looked like one of the Blues most promising young players this season, making the move up from the team that won the FA Youth Cup last year to play a more mature role with the reserves.

A source close to newly-appointed Swindon boss Paolo Di Canio said: "Paolo is looking to set his team up at Swindon, and is very keen on the young boy.

Great.  So not only is he is racist, but Paolo likes young boys too.

RE: Milan Lalkovic. I saw him score a couple of goals for Chelsea Reserves at Newcastle late last year. Quite a decent player.

Big step up from ressie. Would love to see him come and try, as long as he isn't plan A (in case he isn't ready). And I'm sure that's the thinking.

I'd agree with that Batch... The problem is that if you stick these young loan players on the bench ala Ben Hutchinson and David Ball, you don't get the best from them.

He can be part of 'plan A', as long as there's the experienced been there/done that by his side.

Recent tweets plainly said we are looking at proven players, not youngsters.

No one needs to defend him. I follow him as i am interested in what he says if others don't or are getting pissed off then they can press the unfollow button.
