As many of you know I am the manager of a (IMO) fairly good ska group called The Communicators. A few of you will have heard a couple of our songs as played on matchdays half Time is Ska time with Mark O'Donnell on BBC's Saturday sport show. We have been trying to no avail for over a year to find a venue in or around Swindon.

Well......we have entered a competiton on facebook to be in line to play at The Womad Charlton Park festival in Malmesbury 29th-31st July this year.

Please can you give us a quick vote, pretty please (PS thanks already Ginghino!). You need to have a Facebook account as its a compo run by Facebook. Click the following link and then under "latest bands"  under the sub menu of "reggae" and then click on the "your vote" where it has the stars next to it, then you will have to allow the facebook application for your vote to be counted.

Just listening to The Communicators tracks on their Myspace page, never heard any of their stuff before, but I really like it. If you ever do get a gig organised in Swindon, let us know!

What I'm missing is a "Your vote has been registered" type confirmation, which would help. But when I go back, my 5 stars are still there.

Perhaps you have voted but it's just a bit of a gay system.

Thanks peeps, currently 6th, to vote you just click the stars on the right hand side that says your vote, it wont tell you your vote has been cast it just shows the stars as being red.

Very silly system Facebook have put on to vote it has confused a lot of people.

And yes I will post it on here when we finally get to play in Swindon, we are trying to get to 12 bar and are in talks with them will keep you informed.

Voted. JJ - do you know Kieren Moore? He runs a small proption company called SheerMusic. He puts on gigs himself and also, I think, does the sound at the 12 Bar or Vic.

No I havent crossed paths with Kieren Moore, would you by any chance have a contact number or email, if you do please PM me :) and thanks for the vote.

The 12 Bar is being boycotted by him and many of those involved in the Swindon music scene, from what I've read

Many many thanks for all those that voted for The Communicators, we stormed the voting getting 573 votes compaired to the next highest vote of 517.

We will be performing on the main stage on Friday 29th July in the late afternoon at Charlton Park in Malmesbury.
