If we get anything remotely close to £400K for McGovern then that's a cracking bit of business, just can't see it though.

We wont know till Di Canio brings in his players, but my opinion is you'll struggle to find someone better than JP in league two. I know a lot of the fans dont rate him, but hey most of the fans are idiots!

I agree he's quality when on song. Like most players last season he was far from on song. Same could be said about his first season with us.

Which JPM would we get next season?

400k is a great amount of money for JPM for sure, but we have to be able to attract players to us with it, otherwise its of no use at all.

So we haven't taken up the extensions on Douglas or Cuthbert then, cant see either agreeing to even less wages to paly in league two, thats those two gone!

Douglas is a massive mistake, we will struggle to replace him for sure, first player we've had like that for 15 years!!

We're down to next to nothing, think PDC is going to need more than the 5 players suggested last week!

Is it contract year?? JP does well when his contract is up for renewal so.... if so he will be ace this season!

As far as I know, Cuthbert and Douglas' contracts are still to be looked at, so they could both stay yet, let's hope so.

Well that article has made me the most positive about next season I have been so far. I am glad Bodin is getting an input as i'm sure his role is very important and will only benefit the club. Wilson wasn't interested in progressing players from the youth set up. Many didn't get a chance at all and couldn't prove themselves as they didn't get a run out. Our youth set up has really come on in the last couple of years and the boys in the c of e hold their own against prem academy sides. Hopefullly some will come through and make it at their local club. There are a couple of players I rate highly that will be first year scholars next season.

With regard to Douglas and Cuthbert,I think they might get offered something, but not in the terms of the original contracts which I suspect would have cost the club too much for league 2.

The same we had a couple of years ago. Contract will be running out you know!

£ 400k has to be wrong, if not we have to take the offer. Would we consider buying a player of his standard for £ 400k I think not...?

Those Elite chappies seem to think there's a good chance Dougie and Cuthbert will stay.

We only bought him for £100k and if anything his value has gone down since then.  So it must be wrong.  I say an extra zero on the end....

Perhaps it is a case of we don't want either on just a 1 year deal so are set to offer them a longer contract so they don't help to get us out of L2 and then leave with us getting nothing for them

For 400k he's replaceable. His form last year was patchy to say the least but looked a cracking player with Manks behind him when he stuck to the wing.

His form was patchy because the said manager who all of a sudden rates him at 400k kept dropping him or fucking him around

He is a good player on his day and has provided countless assists for us, But I would much rather see Caddis as our first choice RM next season

£400k I would bite off their hand, much more like £40k and probably a free like Prutton.

Whichever way hes no loss on last seasons form.

The main reason JPM has been so poor this season is because he's had nobody to supply crosses to. As soon as Billy and Charlie left, there was no target man to hit with his crosses.

£400k for JPM would be the perfect way for Wilson to apologise for last season!

I think there was more than that, his overal play was poor and he didn't really look fit all Season, on top of being played as a Cental Midfielder for long periods.

Cuthberts current wages are too high for league 2 and the club are currently negotiating new terms with him.

If Sheffiled United pay £400k for him I'll stick a picture of my knacker bag on here. No fucking chance. In fact, I can't even see anyone paying a fee for him. Out of all our players he's probably the biggest bottler. Had one great season but other than that he's been shit. I'd happilly let him go on a free.
Mind you if Wilson is holding the purse strings then just maybe.

Ferry was dropped and fucked about but seemed to play well. JPM was patchy before he was dropped, that's why he was dropped.

My point was more tongue in cheek and alluding to the fact that people think that wilson would want him or that jpm would want to join him

Wrong,Ferry was a shadow of his former self(on loan).

And he got out of condition and for me that is just not on as a pro who is paid good money.
JPM is a good player but needs to play a forward role,not as expected last season to be constantly back tracking covering in a defensive mode.

I'm 20 stone and I haven't seen them for fucking years. I presume they're still there. Such is my confidence that a £400k to Sheff utd won't materialise. In fact, I'll open it up a bit and say that £400k anywhere.

JPM was playing wide right at the start of the season and then when the results started going belly up that's when his position started to get messed about with.

I agree with Ferry and in another post I comment how out of shape he got but then played well when he came back and got several MoM's IIRC but that is probably testament to how shit the rest of the team were.

I said Ferry played well which he did why is that wrong? I didn't say he was back to his 'old' self.

Di Canio's interview on the OS is pretty interesting. Looks like he's looking at 5 "quality" players, 3 from abroad and 2 from the UK. He was a bit vague but the ipression I got was that he's confident of getting three or four of them in.
