Title: Sky Sports Cancellation 'Deal' Post by: The Grim Reaper on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, 13:30:19 With the football season over now and no British games on tv until August i thought i'd give Sky a call to remove the sports package and save myself the £20 a month or whatever its costs. Obviously as so many people doing this they are prepared to offer you sports package at a £15 off each month for 3 months saving you a bargain £45.
So, if you like your summer sports its worth the price of a 10 minute call. Title: Re: Sky Sports Cancellation 'Deal' Post by: Peter Venkman on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, 13:38:08 I did that and got offered all sky sports packages for no cost for 6 months.
Title: Re: Sky Sports Cancellation 'Deal' Post by: Arriba on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, 13:40:22 i did that and had phone sex with the woman who took the call
Title: Re: Sky Sports Cancellation 'Deal' Post by: The Grim Reaper on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, 13:41:06 They must have different offers based on your existing package/length of service i would have imagined?
Title: Re: Sky Sports Cancellation 'Deal' Post by: Ginginho on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, 13:42:49 I just did that and the woman I spoke to gave me free SkySports HD for 2 years, sent me a laptop, PS3 and new 50" Plasma TV, then came round and gave me a handjob. Result, cheers Grim Reaper!

I would think that is the case, we have been on the full package for about 6 years and with sky for 10+ years. I am still going to cancel the sports package anyway when the free 6 months is up cos if any game is on tat I want to watch I will watch on t'internet for nowt anyway. Title: Re: Sky Sports Cancellation 'Deal' Post by: Ginginho on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, 14:13:39 What's the Sky Anytime+ like?
Last year we switched from Sky to Virgin, as it worked out slightly cheaper and you get the on demand stuff, which is good. I just don't like the Virgin set up, it's really slow sometimes and a lot of the time I want to watch on demand programmes it says "due to high traffic you are unable to view this programme" or some crap. I much preferred the Sky+ layout and it was much quicker and slicker, so would be tempted to go back to Sky. Title: Re: Sky Sports Cancellation 'Deal' Post by: The Grim Reaper on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, 14:20:16 Depends really Ginginho, I'd say Sky HD was better than Virgin's standard digital box, but my brother recently had Virgin's Tivo system installed and that looks a mighty fine bit of kit.
Title: Re: Sky Sports Cancellation 'Deal' Post by: Ginginho on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, 14:28:56 Cool, never even heard of Tivo, but it looks great, £150 installation fee is a bit steep though, might contact them see if they can do anything on that :)
Title: Re: Sky Sports Cancellation 'Deal' Post by: Batch on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, 14:30:44 What's the Sky Anytime+ like? I wouldn't know because the uselss fu**s haven't got it working properly on the Amstrad 780 HD box yet. Also note that having a HD box (not the 780 or Thomson!) and Sky Broadband is a pre-requisit for receiving the service, you can't use any other ISP. Have heard the Anytime+ is limited in HD content but is ever so slowly increasing this. Title: Re: Sky Sports Cancellation 'Deal' Post by: Jimmy Glass is an Alien on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, 21:46:43 In the 3yrs I've had sky I've never paid full price for the movies/sports packages and in that time I've had the full package for the whole time. Give them a call and be honest say i don't want to pay full price what offers have you got. Worst that can happen is they won't do anything.
Title: Re: Sky Sports Cancellation 'Deal' Post by: Bathtime on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, 11:43:31 I thought I had done well to get £ 15.00 per month for the next 3 months with the advice that I should call back and ask for another deal when this offer expired but you guys have done even better.....bastards
Title: Re: Sky Sports Cancellation 'Deal' Post by: Batch on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, 13:04:39 I've had 17.5% removed from my Sky TV bill for years now. I think the offer must have slipped through the cracks.
