Title: O*ford Away Post by: jonah on Saturday, May 28, 2011, 17:27:37 So where do Swindon traditionally go to drink in O*ford before the match? When I used to go in the "old days" I either travelled to the Manor on coach from the CG or via the buses taking Town fans straight from O*ford railway station (ie with Police escort).....
I did used to live in O*ford too, and managed to catch an away game (FA cup at Kassam) but had a few crafty pints in town that day and didn't see much of a ST presence in the centre.... :pint: jonah Title: Re: O*ford Away Post by: tans on Saturday, May 28, 2011, 17:34:22 Just dont wear colours and drink in the centre
Title: Re: O*ford Away Post by: jonah on Saturday, May 28, 2011, 17:57:51 Yep, have to say I used to keep my head down in town!
Jonah Title: Re: O*ford Away Post by: oakleigh2010 on Sunday, May 29, 2011, 13:57:48 Yep, have to say I used to keep my head down in town! Jonah Why! I worked in Oxford for three years and wore my prominent STFC tie everyday. Only once did someone comment on it and that was a guy who asked what the badge was. When I told him he scratched his head, picked up his thesis and minced off down the road. I don't think he was a football fan. Title: Re: O*ford Away Post by: Ralphy on Sunday, May 29, 2011, 17:20:32 I was talking to my mate about this the other day. Will there be buses running from Oxford train station to the Kassam ??
I think we plan to drink in the City centre and keep our heads down. Living in north Oxon, the train is the best way for us. Not sure what your line of work was, but had you been a medic specialising in consanguinity making visits to Blackbird Leys, I somehow doubt you'd have escaped comment Title: Re: O*ford Away Post by: otanswell on Sunday, May 29, 2011, 20:43:43 Guarantee you these will not be played on a saturday

Title: Re: O*ford Away Post by: Ralphy on Sunday, June 5, 2011, 15:08:21 So he would rather pay into Oxford's coffers than our own.
Makes perfect sense. Title: Re: O*ford Away Post by: Dave on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, 17:06:47 In the past the police have insisted the Priory pub near the ground be turned over to away fans (Lincoln springs to mind). Won't happen this year though as the landlord is an avid Ox fan and would rather close.
This isn't particularly informative, but just wanted to show DV Canio that I still enjoy corresponding with my new chums. Title: Re: O*ford Away Post by: Batch on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, 17:09:31 That's fine, we'll save our drinking for a victory toast back in Wiltshire.
