Title: Fabrizio Piccareta - New Italian Cone Gatherer
Post by: Dazzza on Monday, May 23, 2011, 20:26:15
Anyone got any skeet or background on our new cone gatherer and fitness coach?

From today's Adver...

Quote
PAOLO Di Canio today confirmed that he will be calling upon the services of two of his compatriots to assist him at Swindon Town.

Former Inter Milan youth team coach Fabrizio Piccareta will be Di Canio's assistant while Claudio Donatelli, who has spent time at Reggina, joins as fitness coach.

“I like the way they work and they speak English even better than me!” said Di Canio.

“We need to be able to tell the players what we want. We can explain what we would like all we want but at the end of the day it is the players who have to perform on the pitch.

“So it is important for me to have technical staff who can work with them and build a relationship with them.”

Not much on show, just some work he did in Cambodia for Inter... There's some evidence of his English skills, which is fine :)

PDC said in his interview that both the coaches speak better at the English than he does :D

Having spent some time in teaching in Cambodia, I know how much that week will have meant to the children who took part.    It warms the heart to see someone having an important role at STFC who has given his time to such a project. He also seemed to enjoy it.

ps    ... his English skills, which ARE fine.  Or maybe that was your little joke  :)

pps   thanks for the link

Liking the idea of us having an Italian 'prepatore'. Should have access to some more effective 'recovery assistance' than the lager that seemed to be last season's drug of choice :)

No, It was Park Grammar, later Oakfield I think. Showing my age there  :(

I do know of one other Town fan here, initials P J. Would that be him?

I personally thought Paolo spoke very good English anyway ! Better than I remember Ossie speaking English.

I'd like to be a fly on the wall when Paolo meets Simon Ferry for the first time.

Oh, also that annoying bloke who walks around the back of the Arkells and in the Legends lounge before games! His intials are PT ;)

I wonder what he'll have to say to Paolo :D

So what's his input, he doesn't say much from the dugout during games, he must have a good relationship with paolo. Anyone know much about him?

You would think he may be the one to talk sense into Paolo and calm him down but he's obviously good out on the training pitch
