I would have thought ourselves and Plymouth should have been favourites!

How are they gonna get around the wage cap? Their turnover must be shite.

I expect Crawley to do well.

Oh well, let the majority of the pressure be on Crawley.

8/1 is very tempting, worth a tenner.

After a few Di Canio signings and all the media interest on STFC its only a matter of days before Town are favourites. Not that it really matters. And not entirely convinced Crawley will finish top half let alone top.

Crawley will be shitting themselves when you have Brighton and their new stadium down the road.

I know which one i would choose if i lived down there and had the choice between the two

I think they will be there or there abouts.

I hope I'm wrong.

Looks like those odds dependent on di Canio staying until the end of the season as well though

I can see Crawley following a similar path to Rushden & Diamonds in the 2000s - another side who sugar-daddied their way in to the League.  But when the dust settled, they simply didn't have the support base to sustain a League place.  I can't see Crawley being a permanent fixture in the League...especially with Brighton just up the road, as others have pointed out.

Stephen Hawking is still working them out.

Crawley will likely get round the wage cap issue by spurious sponsorship deals- as Posh did a couple of seasons ago when they were in League 2

surely a lot of the Crawley fervour is hype.
they won well in the conference but there must be a step-up to L2 level.
they spent heavily by conference standards but can't see that they spent more on players than we did last season, so the argument that they'll spend their way to success is unproven.

they'll never attract big crowds as they're caught between Palace and Brighton territory and most of the town population will support Chelski or one of the other London teams.

something definitely doesn't smell right with their finances though, anonymous investors who are happy to put money in but want no return - in what world does this ever happen?  it seems inevitable that the wheels will come off some time, probably not in the very near future, but do they really have resources to stride straight through L2?

Agree with all of that. The only exception to the above is probably that their squad is already pretty good for this level which is why they walked the conference.

Fancy a punt on us to win the league at 12/1. I'm always up for a crazy bet in close season. Must be the boredom.

I have a theory that we will win the league this year, hear me out.

Season before last, my nephew starting coming to a few games.
I think he came to 4/5 games in total, never saw us win once.

He then got a season ticket for last season, missed a few games, and never saw us win.
So in his time watching Swindon, he has never, ever seen us win.

He has not renewed his season ticket for next year, so the jinx will be lifted and we're gonna piss the league.
