Post by: Barry Scott on Wednesday, May 11, 2011, 12:02:57
Someone crashed into me yesterday and I've got to get some quotes. Does anyone have any recommendations please?

Where there's blame there's a claim.

HTH.

I need to get mine done too, just haven't been arsed to do it yet.
Some 15yr old kid ran out in front my missus about a week after we got our new car.
He was running to catch a bus, jumped over the central reservation on Fleming Way and ran straight out in front of her. He wasn't hurt, but i've got nice kid shaped dent in my bonnet.

I think someone on here mentioned DingMaster as one to try.

Obviously I have whiplash and various major internal injuries, but I need the motor repairing as well!

The wheel arch has been bent inwards and cornering and any bumps (thank you Swindon Borough Council) make lots of unpleasant noises where the tyre (brand new) makes contact with the arch. :(

She should've seen him coming, changed down and booted it.

Ahem, it wasn't me driving :)

She was really shaken up about it, it's one thing hitting another car, but to hit a fucking 15 year old kid and see him roll up the windscreen is another.

I got there about 15 mins after it happened and saw red all over the road, turns out it was passata.
The kid dropped his school cooking ingredients all over the road.

Oh, I hope you're OK though Gary.
If Lionel Hutz from the Simpsons has taught me anything, mental scarring and trauma are major issues from car accidents :)

Cheers, I found Nationwide Accident Repair and they would've received a call. But now they won't.

"Lost" my car for a day.

Took a week longer than quoted with no real explanation offered.

Ended up with a two-tone car.

Blimey! Fair reason then.

Said mate doesn't do repairs, probably his fault if the repair was held up by parts though!

This!  Best to go to an independant than a National one i have found on experience.

Better job, better quote, better service.  There are a couple in the industrial estate behind the New Inn near Greenbridge Retail Park.  Can't remember the names but I have used them and they were fine.

Avoid Just Car Clinic in Greenbridge Ind Estate. They took more than two weeks to repair a front bumper.

The rear bumper received some damage and will need to be included. The bumper was a bit tatty pre-prang (thanks to the previous owner) so I was going to get the garage to do the whole thing and pay for the work not caused by the blind driver myself. (I'm not claiming on his insurance for the record, he's paying for it.)

My old man thinks I should get the garages to bump the price up a bit to get my whole rear bumper resprayed, courtesy of the pranger. He also says that the chances are they'll have to respray the whole thing anyway, so if they don't the driver would be getting off lightly and I should have him pay anyway. That doesn't sit well with me, am I right?

I was trying to remember what they were called, to give them a bell. In that case I won't.

Thanks, they're now on my list and will receive a call.
