Interesting one - can be a bit feisty but I'd cautiously welcome this one.

Good to know the club have learnt from past mistakes  ::) If this is true then I don't think the board are capable of getting anything right.

OK, nobody panic...most (in fact all bar one) of these applicants are not going to be successful...if Magilton is successful though, I will seriously consider killing myself.

It gets more uninspiring as the week goes on it seems.

What's wrong with Jim Magilton then.?

I hope so because our board are starting to worry me, but having said that i would rather have magilton than rix. Those scummers are pissing themselves that we might get rix but seem to be upset that magiltons in the frame.

I would like to think parkinson was top of that list but if not i would take trollope or bodin over any of those others mentioned.

Magilton might be ex Pox, but it wouldn't be too bad an appointment IMHO.

Although he hasn't won anything as a manager (few have really), he did a decent job at Ipswich (7th in the Championship) before being replaced by Roy Keane.

He was sacked at QPR after 1 win in 7 in the Championship QPR were 12th, mind you he was involved in some kind of bullying of one of their players.

John Gorman was his assistanct then -- maybe he could be lured back too?

Magilton has done absolutely nothing as a manager though.....

I think most football supporters would put Danny Wilson's achievements in management a lot higher than Magilton's

His record with QPR and Ipswich is 172 games, 65 wins - that is hardly the stuff dreams were made of is it ?

Personally I would take Di Canio over him any day of the week - rather someone passionate and unproven than someone dour and proven to have done nothing...

Nothing if you like watching hoofball & totally uninspiring football.  Probably why Sam Parkin never made it at Ipswich because all Magilton got their players to do was hoof the ball up to him

He spent loads at Ipswich, reported in a few places as £12 million, and yet still they couldn't reach the play offs.

It isn't the most inspiring appointment thats for sure but I would have him over Bodin.

We do need to be slightly realistic here, we are a league 2 team now. All this talk of "he has only won X amount of games" and "he hasn't won anything" Managers like these are in short supply and will be managing higher up the ladder.

I am away today for a week,i am hoping i come back and Bodin has been appointed.
None of the others fill me with any kind of real hope,so lets go for the cheaper option and with a manager who will give youth a chance.

People's expectations are way too high if they are dismissing someone like Magilton as "not good enough".

Successful mangers on the market aren't likely to end up at a league 2 team.

It'd be better to employ somebody we cannot be sure about than somebody who has proven to be no good.

Horrible bloke, can be a real nasty piece of work and when it comes to the "big I am" sort of behaviour he makes old Kingy look like Jesus Christ himself.

Throw into the mix he's an ex-scummer, is as inspiring as mouldy cress and has done precisely fuck all at management you have someone that starts to make even Rix sound appealing.  

He blew a fortune at Ipswich and achieved next to nothing, head butted a player at QPR and doesn’t seem too able to get sides to perform away from home.

Magilton? No fucking way, i've seen him been kicked out of more pubs in Belfast than anyone. He's a wee scumbag who lacks basic intelligence. We would be a horrible, ugly side under him and if we sucked it would really suck.

I think Di Canio is a risk but no more than Paul Dickov was for Oldham Athletic and they had a reasonable season.

Trouble is we don't want a reasonable season, we need to be out first time or could get stuck there for the foreseeable.

I wouldn't be too upset if Trollope was appointed, but I draw the line at fucking him.
