Title: Simon Cox Ireland Call Up Post by: Bumpkin on Thursday, May 5, 2011, 17:48:23 Coxy's been called up for the Republic of Ireland.
Anyone know if we'll get a pay out from a one of the cluases in his transfer deal? Title: Re: Simon Cox Ireland Call Up Post by: Peter Venkman on Thursday, May 5, 2011, 17:49:51 I hope so and good luck to him, many congrats.
Title: Re: Simon Cox Ireland Call Up Post by: reeves4england on Thursday, May 5, 2011, 17:50:06 Coxy's been called up for the Republic of Ireland. Knowing our luck, we probably put a clause in saying "£500k if he plays for England" not realising he's eligible for ROI!Anyone know if we'll get a pay out from a one of the cluases in his transfer deal? Title: Re: Simon Cox Ireland Call Up Post by: Bumpkin on Thursday, May 5, 2011, 17:53:06 Living in Ireland some of the papers have stats on all Irish players (or eligible players) playing in England and Scotland. Coxy was always on that list, thought it was a mishtake when they meant Bazza Corr.
Must have got his passport. Was over on holiday here recently. Title: Re: Simon Cox Ireland Call Up Post by: Peter Venkman on Thursday, May 5, 2011, 18:09:03 Coxy's granmother was or is Irish.

The Land That Time Forgot, I've got down as Clevancy...between Clyffe Pypard and Compton Bassett. Was a while ago since I was last there, so it may have entered the 20th Century by now. Title: Re: Simon Cox Ireland Call Up Post by: pauld on Friday, May 6, 2011, 21:26:23 But Frederick the film title under discussion is The Land Before Time. Ha, ha, nice one Reg! Not so much "The Land that Time Forgot" as "The Film Title that Fred Forgot (in the space of about 3 posts)".Title: Re: Simon Cox Ireland Call Up Post by: reeves4england on Friday, May 6, 2011, 23:04:29 But Frederick the film title under discussion is The Land Before Time. Title: Re: Simon Cox Ireland Call Up Post by: Reg Smeeton on Tuesday, May 24, 2011, 19:00:37 What on earth were you ever doing in Clevancy? My school bus used to go up that way when I was at Hilmarton! Looking for a feature marked on old maps (1950's) as Townsend's Knoll.....couldn't find it. As it's no longer on more recent maps, I can only assume that it disappeared....never have found out what Townsend's Knoll was.....maybe a job for Leefer. The DMV at Bupton is quite interesting... Title: Re: Simon Cox Ireland Call Up Post by: Simon Pieman on Tuesday, May 24, 2011, 19:03:11 I would assume it was a knoll.
Title: Re: Simon Cox Ireland Call Up Post by: Reg Smeeton on Tuesday, May 24, 2011, 19:05:58 I would assume it was a knoll. I only know of 2 knolls....one in Dallas, and one at the top of Croft Road. Title: Re: Simon Cox Ireland Call Up Post by: Barnard on Tuesday, May 24, 2011, 19:27:03 I'm surpised you've missed 'Starve Knoll' at Compton Bassett, after all if you've ventured as far as Clevancy....

Interesting....not something marked on the 50's map....whereas Townsend's Knoll was marked as an antiquity. Interesting Reg....new to me but seems old maps would reference old ley line positions and Townsends Knoll was an important one, seems it was an earthworks shown on this graph, why Townsend i can only guess it was the man who identified it or the man who had land there, would be nice to find out. Interesting link, for me anyway! Title: Re: Simon Cox Ireland Call Up Post by: Kinky Tom on Tuesday, May 24, 2011, 20:23:48 Bang, Cox goal!

Interesting link, for me anyway! However much it would be nice for there to be ley lines, it is in fact bollocks. Although interesting that Townsend's Knoll gets a mention. Another mystery site for me is Swanborough Tump...between Woodborough and Pewsey, another that has disappeared. Title: Re: Simon Cox Ireland Call Up Post by: jutty274 on Tuesday, May 24, 2011, 20:32:03 Does anyone know if Simon Cox has still got his twitter account?

Title: Re: Simon Cox Ireland Call Up Post by: Ginginho on Tuesday, May 24, 2011, 20:41:51 How the fuck did the topic of knolls come up in a Simon Cox thread?
Title: Re: Simon Cox Ireland Call Up Post by: leefer on Tuesday, May 24, 2011, 20:46:06 http://www.one-name.org/profiles/swanborough.html
It is here that King Alfred met his brother on route to fight the Danes(memorial stone) Incidently Reg for what it is worth it seems that Townsend was a landowner years back who had land in Savernake and in Norfolk and maybe financed a dig on the ancient earthworks at Townsends Koll. Title: Re: Simon Cox Ireland Call Up Post by: Deano8123 on Tuesday, May 24, 2011, 20:52:41 Congrats Coxy!! :)
