Town down but Hart says he's still the right man for the job

PAUL Hart’s long-term future as Swindon manager became no clearer after defeat to Sheffield Wednesday sealed relegation to League Two, but he believes appointing him on a permanent basis would be
  the ‘right choice’.

He really just doesn't get it does he? if he is appointed we will lose hundreds maybe thousands off the gate, terrible manager and I am not aware of one fan who would be happy with his appointment.

It doesn't matter what he says/thinks any more, it's just up to Fitton to see some sense and appoint someone else.

He also thinks we have improved.

1 win and some wanky draws.

He probably does think he is the best man for the job in Hart land!

Don't get me wrong I don't think Hart is the sole reason we are where we are. Thats not to say that I don't think he's a useless manager though, who during his post match interviews with Vic Morgan has come across arrogant and also has come acrooss as inspirational as Malpas was. The thought of Hart staying makes me feel physically sick. He's giving John Barnes a run for his money for being the most clueless manager in the football league since Steve Bleasdale's stint on Big Ron manager.

The thought of Hart staying has prompted me to email Watkins - the first time I have felt strongly enough to contact the club under the current regime - appointing him wuold really make me despair.

Still, you can't accuse him of not motivating people - he is the only person who has managed to get the Arkells stand showing a bit of passion!

i don't think there is a single fan who wants hart to stay.
even those with a balanced view can see it needs a fresh face.the fact that some fans feel so strongly to e-mail club directors(ott imo) or abuse the bloke during a match, means his job here is finished.
hart has had a point with alot of what he's said recently, but it won't wash when the club has been relegated.

Arriba - I know we were crap and clueless before Hart came, but we were crap clueless and really negative under him at a time when we really needed to go gung ho.

The club have a bit on the official website asking fans to give their views - they are businessmen and know that unless your product is so ace and shiny and unique that it will sell regardless, you have to listen to what your customers want.

Ive never seen a manager so universally loathed at Town. Even McMahon wasnt that unpopular after more than 3 years!

Some of that is a little unfair on Hart as it stems from frustrations that were already building up before he arrived but he hasnt helped matters with his decisions and his interview on Saturday was pathetic.

Bottom line is though, it doesnt matter if its fair or not. If Hart is apppointed full time, next season will kick off in the sort of negative and poisonous atmosphere we saw at the end of the match on Saturday. The consequences of that dont bear thinking about.

I don't see how keeping Hart can even be considered a viable option for the club. As others have said, it will deter some from attending, and it will prolong the current negative and frustrated atmosphere in the stands on a matchday. What the club needs between May and August is a sense of a fresh start, a sense of improvement, and above all a sense of desperation to WIN League 2 next season. That has to be the goal if the players and board are serious about putting this season behind us. That's not to say I'd be unhappy with promotion from 2nd or 3rd place, but the target has to be based on setting the record straight and getting this club back on the tracks we were on a year ago.

You've summed in up in a nutshell there. There has to be a sense of a fresh start. It's vital.

Thought Fitton would of made it easy for him on Saturday.

I went the net on the way up to see if he had gone....but...no.

On taking the job there is no way he could say 100% that we would stay up...but....

I expected us to give it a go....we didnt/have'nt.
I expected at least three wins by now....we got one.
I expected to finish above a poor side that had been fined ten points.....we have'nt/wont.

For that reason he should be thanked for a least taking on this shower of shite...paid his money and fucked off.

If he IS (please no) given the job then Fitton better announce it after the match on Saturday as it will get ugly again.

You get the feeling that if Fitton appointed Paul Hart as permanent manager sooner or later Vic Morgan would shoot him.

I daren't even think that he might stay. It makes me feel sick.

I'm sure he's just trying to wind us up after County anyway...
