Title: BBC News: Hart says good riddance to Grella Post by: News Monkey on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, 14:00:02 Hart says good riddance to Grella
Manager Paul Hart believes Swindon are "better off without" striker Mike Grella, who has returned to Leeds. http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/rss/-/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/swindon_town/9455637.stm Title: Re: BBC News: Hart says good riddance to Grella Post by: THE FLASH on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, 15:23:47 I remember McMoan sending Fjortoft packing.
And i remember what happened that year too!! I understand the attitude of if he dont want to be here but Stevie Wonder could see he was one of best players and Hart looks the cunt in this story as the performance and selection at Exeter illustrates. Title: Re: BBC News: Hart says good riddance to Grella Post by: Spencer_White on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, 17:44:35 He's got the chance to play a part in Leeds' return to the top flight. Even if it is a small part. Probably feels if he's going to sit on the bench anywhere he'd rather do it at Leeds.
Title: Re: BBC News: Hart says good riddance to Grella Post by: Costanza on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, 17:53:33 I agree with Hart on this. He was hardly bombed out like Obika was.
People went all lovey-dovey with him because of some Tweets but I considered Grella's exit a bit of a cop out if I'm honest. He signed on until the rest of the season and it wouldn't have hurt him nor his Leeds career had he got stuck in and fought for his place (if we're honest, he's not to be at Leeds for much longer if they're moving towards the Prem). Tremendous fan PR by Grella and I wish him luck but when we're looking for options up front, we are one down yet again which isn't all his fault but he hasn't helped matter. Title: Re: BBC News: Hart says good riddance to Grella Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, 17:54:52 I can see both arguments to be fair. It's happened we move on,i say we wait til the end of season tbh before slaughtering Hart.
Title: Re: BBC News: Hart says good riddance to Grella Post by: reeves4england on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, 17:57:55 I'm with Hart on this. He hasn't come across well in the way he's explained it to the press, but at the same time he knows the importance of having the right mentality in the dressing room. His job at the time was to get this team to win 5 out of 6 games, and he needs to do everything he can to keep up levels of morale, focus and determination.
Title: Re: BBC News: Hart says good riddance to Grella Post by: Spencer_White on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, 18:03:26 I dont blame him. And good to see a player capable of a bit of fan PR, not like some of the twittering fuckwits weve got here.
The cases of Grella and Obika show how stupid the club was to try and rely on on-loan strikers to keep us up. Neither player was under any real obligation to stay and fight. Title: Re: BBC News: Hart says good riddance to Grella Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, 18:08:20 True Spence but don't you think it's amazing how what sort of season you are having has a massive effect on fans opinions on things like this.
I remember a certain Matt ritchie doing exactly the same thing last season but as we were doing well it didn't seem to matter as much did it Title: Re: BBC News: Hart says good riddance to Grella Post by: leefer on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, 18:17:05 I dont blame him. Unlike Calvin Andrew of course :D Obika has shown at Yeovil he was capable,Grella was our best player in a few matches. To be honest i hope Hart keeps us up obviously but i dont relish the idea of him being our next manager. Title: Re: BBC News: Hart says good riddance to Grella Post by: chalkies_shorts on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, 18:21:44 Unlike Calvin Andrew of course :D At least Hart has stopped us being cannon fodder. We're no longer beaten before we set foot on the pitch. For that, at least he deserves some praise. Obika has shown at Yeovil he was capable,Grella was our best player in a few matches. Title: Re: BBC News: Hart says good riddance to Grella Post by: Batch on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, 18:42:45 Wilson had already stopped us being cannon fodder at home. One win does not a summer make.

We're no longer beaten before we set foot on the pitch. For that, at least he deserves some praise. Chalkies, youve said that before, but the results before Wilson left do not bear that out. In Wilsons last month we had 3 draws, lost 3 games by 1 goal, we did get beaten badly at Orient and Southampton. And lets face it, we would get hammered again if we went to St Mary's tommorow. Title: Re: BBC News: Hart says good riddance to Grella Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, 18:59:59 We thought that with Huddersfield and Brighton didn't we.

I remember a certain Matt ritchie doing exactly the same thing last season but as we were doing well it didn't seem to matter as much did it Matt Ritchie was kept out last season by better players who were also on form and playing in a winning team. I couldnt give you a decent reason as to why Grella wasnt playing any part, better players, not really. Hart clearly doesnt fancy him (for whatever reason I dont know or care) Title: Re: BBC News: Hart says good riddance to Grella Post by: leefer on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, 19:03:21 If I say it enough times then maybe I'll start believing it. As Hart said he played 5 out of 7 games. On the bench and he spits his dummy out,it's easy to have a pop at hart is what i'm saying due to our league position irrelevent of whether ritchie was kept out by better players he ultimatly did exactly the same thing. I dont think Ritchie or Grella spat their dummy out. Both did the sensible thing. Title: Re: BBC News: Hart says good riddance to Grella Post by: Costanza on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, 19:29:39 Wasn't Ritchie recalled by Portsmouth en route to a game with Swindon? Ritchie had no choice, Grella did.

Title: Re: BBC News: Hart says good riddance to Grella Post by: Costanza on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, 20:09:58 I will try and find it but it came out after that he asked to go back. Fair enough. Title: Re: BBC News: Hart says good riddance to Grella Post by: Paolo69 on Wednesday, April 13, 2011, 09:18:11 From memory Pompey recalled Richie just after he scored a mid week hat trick for our ressies. The reason he was playing for the ressies in the first place was because he really didn't look that good/fit when he came on in the first team.
Very few shed any tears but i can now say i'm glad we went back for him. Title: Re: BBC News: Hart says good riddance to Grella Post by: Spencer_White on Wednesday, April 13, 2011, 20:13:44 Its almost as if you have to keep your loan players out of the team to be in with a chance of signing them. The fact Ritchie couldnt get anywhere near our team last season probably paved the way for Portsmouth offloading him. They may well not have realised the player keeping him out of the team had some of the best form in the entire football League.
Anyone remmember when Michael Reddy scored a few goals for us and so Sunderland wanted £5m for him? He was playing for Grimsby about 3 years after that. We're playing Andrew too much at the moment, got no chance of signing him full time. Title: Re: BBC News: Hart says good riddance to Grella Post by: Costanza on Wednesday, April 13, 2011, 20:58:42 We're playing Andrew too much at the moment, got no chance of signing him full time. ... and risk him getting in a strop and returning to Palace? Title: Re: BBC News: Hart says good riddance to Grella Post by: leefer on Wednesday, April 13, 2011, 21:02:47 ... and risk him getting in a strop and returning to Palace? Herein lies the problem with loan players,if there shit they go back,if they are quality they go back.....if they are mediocre they dont know whether they are coming or going. As good as the loan system helped us last season it has really buggered us up this. Title: Re: BBC News: Hart says good riddance to Grella Post by: chalkies_shorts on Wednesday, April 13, 2011, 21:22:51 Anyone remmember when Michael Reddy scored a few goals for us and so Sunderland wanted £5m for him? Ended up going further norrth to Greenland and then going as far south as you can get and play football by playing in the Falkland Islands.Title: Re: BBC News: Hart says good riddance to Grella Post by: TownEnders.com on Wednesday, April 13, 2011, 21:50:30 Ended up going further norrth to Greenland and then going as far south as you can get and play football by playing in the Falkland Islands. That was a Wikipedia myth that got all over the internet, and into an issue of FourFourTwo. He retired through injury and then did his coaching badges.Title: Re: BBC News: Hart says good riddance to Grella Post by: chalkies_shorts on Wednesday, April 13, 2011, 21:58:15 I'm really going for this 85% bollocks recently
Title: Re: BBC News: Hart says good riddance to Grella Post by: 4D on Wednesday, April 13, 2011, 22:09:02 Wilson had already stopped us being cannon fodder at home. One win does not a summer make. When was that Batch? Title: Re: BBC News: Hart says good riddance to Grella Post by: Batch on Thursday, April 14, 2011, 07:10:12 When was that Batch? Dec 28th - Drew 1-1 Jan 1 Lost 2-1 15 Lost 1-0 25 Drew 0-0 29 Drew 0-0 Feb 5 Drew 1-1 19 lost 1-0 That's not good but not canon fodder. By contrast Hart's home record: 0-0 1-1 1-1 Which isn't enough to judge on really as you can pick 3 home games in a row Wilson drew. Title: Re: BBC News: Hart says good riddance to Grella Post by: Spencer_White on Thursday, April 14, 2011, 17:37:39 ... and risk him getting in a strop and returning to Palace? Whats Andrew's contract situation at Palace? Title: Re: BBC News: Hart says good riddance to Grella Post by: Costanza on Thursday, April 14, 2011, 18:20:16 Out of contract or not, senior players go out on loan to get games AND to prove their worth. I doubt that wimping back to Leeds would impress Simon Grayson (RE: Grella).
A loan deal, for me, shouldn't be over-complicated. It's just a temporary movement with no guarentees of a permanent transfer unless it's agreed beforehand. Calvin Andrew could score a goal a game from now and choose to join Scunthorpe in the Summer for all I care. Title: Re: BBC News: Hart says good riddance to Grella Post by: Spencer_White on Sunday, April 17, 2011, 08:52:36 You're right, Graysons not impressed. More worryingly this report says we are still paying Grella's wages!!

Title: Re: BBC News: Hart says good riddance to Grella Post by: DV on Sunday, April 17, 2011, 19:00:03 I wouldnt have cared if Fjortoft was the biggest cunt to have graced the earth.
Still wouldnt have sold him for 1.3 fucking million. worst transfer ever! Title: Re: BBC News: Hart says good riddance to Grella Post by: donkey on Sunday, April 17, 2011, 21:16:01 If Jan was a cunt, I'd have a team of cunts like him any day of the week (and especially Saturday).
