I'm trying to work out why the hell i'm going to this.

Giving up my bank holiday to watch us get dicked.

I've come to the conclusion it's because I want to visit Hillsborough for the first time.

Same. I'm only going because it's a new ground for me.

I'm undecided. Promised the kids I'd take them because they want to see Hillsborough, but not sure now. Although given we're two of the worst sides in the division, the game itself could have a kind of morbid fascination, like two black holes colliding. I suspect it will end up depending on whether the kids actually want to go and whether we can get relegated that day - it's a long way to go to watch our fate being finally sealed.

I almost tripped over David Blunkett's dog at Hillsborough prior to the match on my search for the away section.

Game finished 1-1. Mooney scored a belter.

I've only been up there once. We lost.

Not sure if I'll go this year. To be honest, I have no idea why I'm even contemplating it, but I am.

Make a weekend of it and get on the pop if you're going, Sheffield is a suprisingly good night out.

I got my nose broken up there as a young pup on the lash, probably should have shut up sooner in hindsight :D

I'm going simply because I've only seen us play 3 times this season.
Last match I went to was Oldham away.  :hmmm:

If Blunkett was a Swindon fan, i reckon the dog would of fucked off at half time at most of our home games!

Whereas ost, I quite like the sound of that.  For example, I hate coffee, but coffee stout is usually a favourite.  I'll be stopping in the Red Lion for lunch before the match on saturday (following recommendations on here) and will look forward to their stouts and porters.  I will not be sober.

Indeed, I am kinda thinking that Phil Taylor could be our man.  I like his speed and athleticism for a big man, I reckon Ryan would get him working well.  There is some talk of trading up, personally I'd rather trade down to see if we could still get Taylor in the 2nd.

What are your lot up to?  What's the latest on Palmer?

Well, you have to be able to read between the lines don't you? My impression is that, for whatever reason, he's played his last game for the Bengals. If it was me, I would trade his ass. Mike Brown is a man of principle though and I can see Carson sitting out the last year of his contract. It would be madness all around but this is the NFL so who knows?

I pray to God we don't go for Cam Newton (if he's still there) or A J Green at no.4 (I'm sure Green is a top player but he's not what we need.) I'd love Marcel Darius but I don't see him getting past Denver. I've not seen it in any mock draft but I would not be at all unhappy with Von Miller at no. 4, followed up with Andy Dalton, QB out of TCU in the second round. Beyond that, to be honest, I've not got a clue.

I tell you what though. Fuck the Royal Wedding, I will be watching a recording of the first round of the NFL draft next Friday morning. Can't wait!

Von Miller I like a lot, I think he looks to have a great skill set.  Whoever ends up with him will have signed a hell of a player.

I reckon I might stay up...get the beers and a few snacks in.  Boo whoever the Patriots sign.

(Btw, Tom Brady was 12-2 pre-spygate and 2-3 since...not relevent to anything, but it tells its own story).

Well, I may have mentioned before, the missus is a Pats fan and I do quite like them myself (much to your chagrin I'm sure.) It has been mentioned that they might be interested in Mark Ingram. That would be an interesting, even, dare I say it, exciting pick (and consequently quite un-Patriot like). It would make a lot of sense though.

I was unaware of your good lady's (ahem) choice.  Ingram would be excellent if they could get him with their second 1st Round pick, especially if they trade the pick from the Raiders for value in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

Do NFL players have any say whatsoever in where they're moving?

They don't really have a say in who drafts them, but they don't have to sign the contracts and (I think) can become free agents after that.

It has happened once (many years ago) that a player basically told the team likely to draft him not to bother as he would never sign for them.  This was in the days of the NFL/AFL (two competing leagues who both had drafts and the player decided which of the two teams that drafted him he'd sign for), so I don't know how common that is now.

John Elway and Eli Manning

I think Marshall Faulk said he wouldn't play for Bengals as well. Not sure about that one though.

Of course! In my defence it was late.  Thinking about it what happened early on in Favre's career, wasn't he at Atlanta for a while?

We drafted him as a 2nd rounder. He went 0/4 with 2 INTs in his Falcons career before being traded to GB.

As with you guys Friday off means I get to watch all 3&1/2 hours of the draft rather than that other event.

Got to be D-Line in the 1st, hopefully Clayborn or Heyward will still be on the board. I'd then go WR in the 2nd.

Interested to see where Patrick Peterson goes, best player the in the draft IMO.
