Blackie will be 17 now, went back to adorable Shrewsbury a fortnight ago for the first time in two years, she's still going strong, caught sight of her prowling the back garden, which backs onto the Severn (childhood home). The guy who now owns it runs the Salopian Brewery, for all you real ale fans out there! Long may she live!

Cats are pointless and needy.  Long live dogs!

Cats are definitely more astute and manipulative, but I embrace that, part of their nature. Dogs are clearly a bit dim, loveable all the same

Are you sure, most, but not those stupid hairy Persian types (ban me Don Rogers Shop) could easily fend for themselves, mice, rats, birds, squirrels are their natural quarry.

Exactly! What is the point of owning a cat?

Unless it's a tiger, lion etc, now that would be cool.

There is no point to owning any pet, but as Dostoyevsky said sometimes when 2 + 2 it equals 5, and therein lies the beauty and absurdity of our lives.

We have two pampas grasses in our garden, one sleeps on one, the other sleeps in the other one.
My missus bought a feeding station from Ebay, I thought she was fucking bonkers, but they use it every night. (Well, apart from when they had been in hibernation until a few days ago)

I had a pet hedgehog not long ago, he lived on the balcony with the rabbit.

The (now deceased) rabbit was a reet proper cunt, not nice at all. He didn't like anybody or anything and would attack anything. As I said, a reet proper cunt.

He didn't like the hedgehog much either but there was fuck all he could do about it, not even a hungry tiger could bite a hedgehog. One day though the evil cunt rabbit managed to push hedgers of my 5th floor balcony.

The hedgehog just rolled until a ball while he fell 5 stories. After he landed, the hard bouncy cunt just un-rolled himself and toddled of.

Respect

Hedgehogs like dog food. Put some on a plate and you'l get a spikey visitor (or a fox)

What's your point?
Are you against bum fun and cottaging?

I'm not fussed about pets at all to be honest, but the wife had always wanted cats since she was little but her Dad and Brother were both allergic.
I only prefer them to dogs because I don't have to take them for walks or pick up their shit.
Plus they have cat flaps so come and go as they please, so looking after them is pretty minimal.

I have two cats...they are purrrfect.

Roxy and Laylah they be.

On a practical issue bite the bullet and get cat insurance,as they get older you will get stung at some time without it.

Yeah, we've got both of ours insured, good job really, one of them broke his hip a couple of years ago and would've cost over £1000 had we not had insurance, it's paid for itself already.

Petplan.......£10 per month(per cat)......excess of the first £60.

We also do pet healthcare also £10 per month.....gives you all year worming/flea drops/vaccinations and yearly health check.
This still works out a tad cheaper than buying stuff up front, spreads the cost really.

So basicly for two cats we pay £40 per month...........the peace of mind(if they need an op etc) and healthy cats are worth it.
