Title: Go on then... a LNT Post by: LucienSanchez on Friday, March 25, 2011, 23:56:18 Alright chaps, how's it going?
I haven't started many topics in my TEF career, and definitely not a LNT... so, what is everyone up to? Everyone had decent weeks (obviously aside from the sad local news)? Anyone got exciting plans or expectations for the weekend ahead? ps. is it "an LNT" or "a LNT"? Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: Samdy Gray on Friday, March 25, 2011, 23:58:07 Bought a load of Blackthorn from Asda which turned out to be a bad batch and tasted shit. 8 cans wasted.
Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: Nemo on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 00:00:59 Is there such a thing as a good batch of Blackthorn?
Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: Samdy Gray on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 00:01:47 Yes, yes there is.
Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: shady on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 00:01:59 Walked 150 miles Monday-Friday, nice drink free week - until tonight that is: half way through a bottle of Sainsbury's cider. 10 Marlboro's tommorow for the international game. Good, good week all in all, how's about you?
Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: LucienSanchez on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 00:02:53 I don't mind a Blackthorn... since moving to Bristhole it's more common on tap than your Strongbow, so maybe i got used to it. I can't really pass judgement either, i'm making my way through 3 litres of Frosty Jack's...
Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: chalkies_shorts on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 00:04:20 Blackthorn is piss and knowing that they support the Slave Traders I refuse to buy it. Cornish Rattler is where its at.................or merrydown
Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: LucienSanchez on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 00:04:39 Walked 150 miles Monday-Friday, nice drink free week - until tonight that is: half way through a bottle of Sainsbury's cider. 10 Marlboro's tommorow for the international game. Good, good week all in all, how's about you? Thats what weekends are for! Not the best week, couple of presentations, an essay, and a literature review all due within 3 days of eachother means i can't power nap after countdown... Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: shady on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 00:04:56 Me neither Lucien, Sainsbury's 'basics' cider, 4.2 %, £1.34 being the clincher
Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: Nemo on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 00:05:43 Rattler's pretty decent. Stowford Press is probably my favourite of the ones that tend to appear on tap in pubs.
Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: LucienSanchez on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 00:06:54 Me neither Lucien, Sainsbury's 'basics' cider, 4.2 %, £1.34 being the clincher I genuinely like that stuff... Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: shady on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 00:07:42 Rattler's pretty decent. Stowford Press is probably my favourite of the ones that tend to appear on tap in pubs. Rattler's a good call. Think they had to change their labelling recently since it was deemed too appealing to kids. Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: shady on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 00:09:25 I genuinely like that stuff... Getting three in for the footie double-bill tommorow, that's if there's any left - they do tend to zip off those shelves! Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: flammableBen on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 00:10:09 i'm making my way through 3 litres of Frosty Jack's... The connoisseur's choice. Good work. I'm not drinking tonight. Had quite a number yesterday. Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: chalkies_shorts on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 00:10:37 Rattler's a good call. Think they had to change their labelling recently since it was deemed too appealing to kids. Well I'm 50 next month and it appeals to me. maybe I'm young at heart........or an alcyTitle: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: LucienSanchez on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 00:11:20 I'm shocked Ben... not even a few glasses of red to help sober up?
Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: shady on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 00:13:49 Here we go (Cornish Rattler Cyder label withdrawn after complaint):

I seem to have gone from daily over drinking to regular heavy binges. I'm not sure which is worse for me. Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: chalkies_shorts on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 00:27:28 Speaking from experience? Certainly thruoghout the late 70s and most of the 80s. Watching Town it was necessary. Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: flammableBen on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 00:33:28 How about daily heavy binges I'm turning into a bit of a lightweight in my old age. Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: LucienSanchez on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 00:38:02 I know what you mean... my hangovers are becoming epic (in a bad way)
Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: Batch on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 01:25:20 That's age for you.
20's = out every Saturday regularly spending £70, play footy Sunday, and the pub midweek sessions to play pool 30's = occasional Saturday on the piss. Drink 6 pints and a few shorts. Drink 2 points of water when you get home to avoid mega hangover. Spend Sunday feeling rough as fuck with glances from the wife for "ruining the weekend". 40's = I'll let you know. Pipe and slippers? Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: DV on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 01:45:02 At work, bored and can't stop thinking about how different things were this time last week :(
Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: LucienSanchez on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 01:52:56 Are you still a Royal Mailian?

'Work' until midnight, got home and watched some Six Feet Under and now I'm off to bed. I'm fucking hardcore. Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: DV on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 01:55:44 I certainly am.
Night Shift worker now if I wasn't when we last spoke which I probably was anyway. How's the student life? Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: LucienSanchez on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 02:02:31 Easier than A-Levels... i can just about remember that, and better than workin for a living. I've always been a sucker for an easy life, and shit at time management, so despite its relative simplicity, i leave everything until the last minute, and thus get harassed by stupid deadlines.
Not sure giving up a lucrative career and hiding out a recession at university is the wisest plan anyone has ever had, but fuck it! Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: DV on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 02:09:42 Still planning to go down the teaching route?
Know about 3 people who are struggling to find PGCE placements or whatever they are called. Funding cut or something... Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: Batch on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 02:10:01 Right peeps, I'm off to try and get some sleep. I can't do student lie ins. My 2 year old will be up at 6 :(
Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: LucienSanchez on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 02:12:15 Still planning to go down the teaching route? Know about 3 people who are struggling to find PGCE placements or whatever they are called. Funding cut or something... No idea... possibly. If not, i'm thinking TEFL then work abroad. Avoid working in this country for 4 years (i think) after graduation, and my student loans get wiped out. That bit needs a bit more research... Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: DV on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 02:22:35 TEFL?
Town End Forum Learning? Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: LucienSanchez on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 02:24:14 Ha! I'm fully versed in that by now...

Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: Coca Fola on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 11:25:33 When does late night become early morning? Midnight.Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: axs on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 11:55:14 So you would describe 0030 as early morning rather than late night?
Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: Coca Fola on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 12:02:30 Yeah.
Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: Coca Fola on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 12:02:56 Because that's what it technically is.
Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: Simon Pieman on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 12:06:33 It is both night and early morning. Just like it is both day and afternoon right now
Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: axs on Saturday, March 26, 2011, 12:10:13 Because that's what it technically is. Its not a technical question, I asked what you would call it. Why am I bothering - this whole conversation is pointless. Title: Re: Go on then... a LNT Post by: Samdy Gray on Sunday, March 27, 2011, 09:12:29 I like Blackthorn.
