Austin is/was more than decent.....put him in the Posh line up and he would have scored even more than he did. Austin is a good as anyone in Lge1. Considering that Fitton said Austin had 18 months left plus we invoked the extra year, so for a player of Austins talent with 30 months to run on his contract we didnt get enough imo. Of course the main difference in the comparisons are the fact Peterborough turned down the bid. He may or may not be as good as CMS, but he's fucking trouble, which is why he was allowed to leave us for whatever we could get in near or above the +£1m bracket. We obviously miss the goals, but if only half of what he's supposed to have got up to is true, I'm not surprised that it was a no-brainer for Fitton when Burnley came knocking on his door. |
