Title: PC / Laptop Prices Post by: Power to people on Monday, March 7, 2011, 20:59:07 Why do you guys reckon I'd get for the following:
Dell Intel P4 3Ghz with Hyper Threading 533Mhz FSB - 2GB Ram - 150GB HDD - 2 x DVDR/W - Win XP loaded Intel P4 3.2GHz 800Mhz FSB - 1.5GB Ram - 2520GB HDD - CD/W DVDR/W - Vista loaded 19" Monitor HP NX7400 Laptop - Intel 1.66Mhz Core 2 Duo - 667mhz FSB - 2GB Ram - 60HDD - DVD Rom/CDR/W - Wireless etc - 15/4" Screen - win xp loaded I'm assuming Ebay is going to be the place to try and sell them - unless I can find someone that wants them I'm looking to buy a new laptop but need to work out how I'm going to afford it - or how much I'll have to find. Where is the best place to look at reasonable priced laptops, don't need anything to flashy price is key ??!! Title: Re: PC / Laptop Prices Post by: RedRag on Monday, March 7, 2011, 21:31:03 I bought Dell 2.8 dual core optiplex 1TB with 4 meg and a DVD/RW and windows XP prof at the weekend for £159 - collected so no delivery
having a monitor is obviously a plus for most and the laptop looks very attractive. I'd reckon £600 + packing Title: Re: PC / Laptop Prices Post by: Simon Pieman on Monday, March 7, 2011, 21:57:41 If you don't need anything flashy, what is wrong with your current laptop?

Nothing, just fancy a new one with Windows 7, office 10 etc etc just working out how to finance it as I've not got a lot of spare cash and the Mrs wouldn't be happy if I spent £300+ in one go (not that I've got that sort of money floating around - got a ST to pay for !) Title: Re: PC / Laptop Prices Post by: stfcinbmth on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, 14:39:50 Stick another gig of ram in your lappie and buy a copy of windows 7. Yours is upgradeable to 4gb I believe

I know but it is a nice to have though Title: Re: PC / Laptop Prices Post by: Peter Venkman on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, 18:03:43 If I can be brutally honest......
Sell 2 of the crappier lappys and upgrade the HP NX7400 to 4gb memory(£25 per 2gb), put a slightly bigger hard drive in it, say 250gb - 500gb (£25-£50) and put Windows 7 on it(£75 upgrade). If you are spending under £450-500 on a new laptop then you will not notice any difference from what you have got already. If you were spending over £500-600 then you would notice a difference in speed. |
