Online now are interviews with new manager Paul Hart and club Chairman Andrew Fitton.

Hart talks about his plans for the club, whether he could stay on at the end of the season. Fitton talks about the points target if they are to stay in League One and what the situation would be like if they were to get relegated.

Good interviews. Nice to hear Fitton (kind of) admit he's made mistakes, specifically with reference to selling Greer. Sounds pretty aware of fan opinion and makes an attempt to address it.

I wouldn't be surprised if Fitton popped on TEF quite often.  When you're being scrutinised for every action it's nice to know what the public consensus is.

I'm not convinced by the appointment of Paul Hart, and certainly if Fitton still harbours the long term ambition of reaching the Championship can only see it being temporary.  That said, I'm not keen on temporary appointments, although I suppose the carrot is there for Hart to work hard and prove himself.

With the transfer window closed, I can't help thinking this is a case of locking the stable door after the horse has bolted.  Personally, I'd have liked to have seen Wilson stay, but if he had to go, it should have been January 1st.

I sincerely hope he doesn't. Here or the Adver forums/comments section.

Liked the Fitton interview, really do believe we are fortunate to have him and his board despite some of his 'mistakes'.

great piece. interviewer has a ridiculously annoying habit of pausing before asking questions, though.

If you were Fitton wouldn't you read up on those supporting the club?  If I won the Lotto tomorrow night and bought a sports team, I'd sure as hell read up on what the fans thought of me.  Perhaps I'm egomaniacal...

I don't think he would/does.......i feel to him its an opportunity to run a business and hopefully make it viable.
People with lots of money and lots of fingers in pies don't really take note...and don'y really care about opinions.
Lets face it he has a really good business and future plans for the Town.........no one can deny that but is he running the club as a fan?.......that is debatable not that i want to debate it.

For me the club i admire is Swansea City..............spent fuck all(on the pitch) and have been patient and look good for the Prem...good on them :clap:

I have it on good authority that he does indeed read this forum and has posted once or twice.

They have spent quite a bit - £1 million (I think) on Scott Sinclair for example.

 I'd hazard a guess that Swansea's money for the ground, came from the Welsh Agency, basically English taxpayers money, doled out according to the Barnett Formula.

And you'd be wrong. The money came from the developers, after the City Council chucked in an extra parcel of land they could develop for retail/commercial purposes (ie you can have this valuable retail/commercial land if you build us a stadium)

I assumed the developers got the Vetch. Shithole as it was IIRC it wasn't too far from town.

I don't think it was commercially viable, demolition costs were pretty high IIRC, or at least not so much as getting a bundle of land for free round the new development. Must confess, I thought the City Council had chucked some cash in as well, but apparently not.

Interesting interview with Fitton. Made an honest assessment of the Greer sale and also made it pretty clear IMO that Hart is by no means seen (not yet at least) as a long term solution.
