Title: Re: Adver News: Wilson quits Town job Post by: Costanza on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, 20:14:12 A Wembley final.
Two 3-0's against Leeds... a couple of wins against Southampton. The Charlton games. Plenty of good memories. Title: Re: Adver News: Wilson quits Town job Post by: DV on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, 20:17:21 Indeed, its actually a shame its turned out the way it has.
Some of those games from last season will live on and be talked about for years and years. Title: Re: Adver News: Wilson quits Town job Post by: Langers on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, 20:19:39 My best memories as a town fan came under Danny, I loved him last year.
Shame it's turned out like this, wish you all the best Danny. Title: Re: Adver News: Wilson quits Town job Post by: Batch on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, 20:21:17 Best footy feelings ever for me last season.
Smashing Leeds 3-0 away, fire alarm song. Ward sinking the pen that took us to Wembley. Been downhill since though :( Title: Re: Adver News: Wilson quits Town job Post by: london_red on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, 20:23:40 Agreed. Charlton away in the playoffs will take some beating for a matchday experience for me.

One the best nights of my life, that was. Title: Re: Adver News: Wilson quits Town job Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, 20:25:56 I've said before that I've always liked Danny Wilson right from when he was a player at Forest in the early 80's. As has been said, there were some unforgettable games last season and no one will really ever know why this season turned to shit so badly. It's a great shame that things worked out how they did. But he had to go.

Title: Re: Adver News: Wilson quits Town job Post by: adje on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, 20:27:45 Ward sinking the pen that took us to Wembley. not that memorable then Batch! Title: Re: Adver News: Wilson quits Town job Post by: donkey on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, 20:28:05 It was Darby that scored the last one, wasn't it? Oh, yes...and how. Great, great night...eventually. Title: Re: Adver News: Wilson quits Town job Post by: DV on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, 20:28:22 Yes, it was Stephen 'never taken a penalty before but I will as cool as you like because i've got massive fucking balls' Darby
Title: Re: Adver News: Wilson quits Town job Post by: Dr Pierre Chang on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, 20:30:25 Wish Wilson all the best, thanks for last season but his time has been up since January.
Lets hope Fitton doesn't fuck up this appointment. Title: Re: Adver News: Wilson quits Town job Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, 20:33:02 There were games last season which you know people will still be talking about in 20 years time...both Leeds games, the Charlton play off game, Southampton away possibly. Sadly the Wembley game will not be one of those.
Title: Re: Adver News: Wilson quits Town job Post by: SirWinston on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, 20:42:39 Nice guy and the brand of football he got us playing after the shite we'd been enduring for the previous few years was a breath of fresh air. It's been posted a few times that he seemed well able to keep a good team going well, but couldn't turn a struggling side around and I agree with that.
I'm sure he'll be visiting us again with a different club in years to come and I certainly won't have the same feelings towards him as I used to when McMahon came back with Blackpool. Thanks for the memories Danny (mostly) and good luck for the future. Title: Re: Adver News: Wilson quits Town job Post by: mrverve on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, 20:45:47 I really liked Wilson, nice bloke and a decent manager. Came in 2 years ago when we were desperate and with some good signings kept us up. Last season he built a great side, we did the double over Leeds and Southampton and that night at Charlton was just incredible. This season hasn't been easy for him, he's made mistakes but the departure's of Greer, Paynter and Ward have really hit us hard.
I just can't help but think that the players have let him down badly this year. Good luck Danny. Title: Re: Adver News: Wilson quits Town job Post by: scott on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, 21:04:27 would just like to say thankyou danny for all you did for us. last season will live long in the memory and i hope you know how much most town fans appreciated you. good luck in the future and i for one will always welcome you back to the county ground
Title: Re: Adver News: Wilson quits Town job Post by: Dozno9 on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, 21:53:45 Saw some of the best football of my days last year. Absolute shame this season has gone so bad and feel for Danny.
He will be remembered by me as a good manager who was unlucky rather than a poor manager who was lucky. Title: Re: Adver News: Wilson quits Town job Post by: Batch on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, 22:00:15 not that memorable then Batch! Knew it was one of them young uns with the big bollocks. Ward scoring the (on agg) equaliser was pretty good too. Thenthe extra time and the near misses. Aaaaagh. He will be remembered by me as a good manager who was unlucky rather than a poor manager who was lucky. Nice way of putting it. Thanks for the memories Danny (mostly) and good luck for the future. Id like to echo those sentiments. I feel his resignation when he could have hung on or tried to get compo for being sacked showed a certain amount of honour that is not common in this bloody silly game we love. He would have got fuck all (relatively speaking) as his contract ended at the end of the season. My guess is Fitton paid him up to the end of his contract any way. A good guy nonetheless. Title: Re: Adver News: Wilson quits Town job Post by: Bathtime on Thursday, March 3, 2011, 08:39:05 Best and worse times with DW. Last season was absolute brilliant...this season complete and utter pants. The man had to move on
