Don't often post on here but I can't see us getting out of this one. One bobble away from possible glory last season (yes I know that wud have only made it 1-1) to a complete dog of a season this time.
Think everything has been said abt why things are as they are. DW is getting longer go at things for last season which I guess is fair enough. Still the Gas are coming with us and we'll get 6 points off the Pox and revenge against Crawley....so its not all doom and gloom - just 99% doom and gloom

Its 4 from 5 at the bottom at the moment. Yeovil have opened up a wee cushion. The next 3 matches are vital that we take 7 if not 9 points.

I have a really weird thought that even though they have been docked 10 points, Plymouth might stay up. They have nothing to play for really now and I think they might put together a run of 'no pressure wins'

As for us, sadly I think we'll go down. Not nearly enough fight in the team.

Agreed. I am aboslutely sick of reading that we have a talented bunch of players who are too good to go down. The results speak for themselves......I just hope that the majority of them jump ship or get thrown overboard at the end of the season and we keep only the ones that want to play for STFC.

It can't be that far from being the worst run in the last 20 years or so, if not longer, I certainly cant think of a longer winless run off the top of my balding bonce.

Scratch that! I just had a quick check and under Todd in the 1999-2000 seaseon we went from 25th October to 7th March winless, a run of 19 games.

Remembering that has made me sorry for Chris Hay all over again as well. Thought he was a good little player stuck in those shit McMahon teams at the end of the 90's. Think he could have been class with some support in a better side.

That season was dire.  Proof that it doesn't really matter which division you play in...if you're losing, you're miserable.

99-2000 we went down from Div 1. But Todd wasn't in charge that year.

Don't think it's quite fair to compare crap seasons in Div2, with crap in Div 3.  Div 3 is our natural terrain, whereas Div2 isn't.  If we'd have gone up in the summer, how long before we imploded, maybe a season or two, and of course imploding at a higher level exposes you to better teams.

I think we have been way to slow to react this to many things, the selling of players and also Danny should have gone a long time ago.

The only reason weve still got a chance is because of Plymouths points deduction.

That was the season when we went into admin for the first time and we sold some of our better players on the cheap.

In case it wasn't blindingly obvious, my post was firmly tongue-in-cheek.

As long as we're still in touch with safety then I won't write Swindon off.

We still have an outside chance looking at the table and our upcoming games so I would normally be of the view that it's never over til its over. However, one definition of madness is doing the same thing time after time and expecting a different outcome and by this yard stick for me DW has gone completely bonkers.

Who is / was going to score our goals in this remarkable turn around that DW predicted in the press and programme? With current striker injuries and given that those left have failed could we have qualified for an emergency loan or signed someone out of contract? Why have the board backed DW for so long? As of the Carlisle defeat I would have taken any change (however mad - Gazza for manager) other than just hoping those who have got us in this position would suddenly come good. 

I hope we beat Walsall, D&R and Plymuff but IMO even if we do the Board sticking with DW and DW / the board sticking with a number of the squad was a case of the heart ruling the head and a bad business decision.

Fair play, but reality suggests something has gone spectacularly wrong..no idea what mind, and if there is any chance of remedial action.

By way of illustration, on Jan 11th we were 5 points off the PO and 5 points off the drop line. Wilson was regretting a poor showing at Oldham, who were themselves on a poor trot. Our winless run then was  1game.  Wilson still firmly believed at that point we were competitive in this league, how wrong he was..

The situation is dire and I completely understand why people believe it's all over, it could very well be. It really doesn't look good. I consider the Leyton Orient loss as the point when Wilson should have probably been canned.

However, I still look at it as 12 games remaining. Perhaps, it's because I'm an exile and am not watching how bad they are? I'm certainly not clutching hold to blind faith... It's mathematics for me and I won't condem Swindon until it's at least ridiculously bleak. Which if we're honest isn't the case, yet.

Upon learning that Walsall beat Southampton.

D&R have 3 games in hand on us and have won 4 and drawn 2 of their last dozen games, averaging 1.16 pts per game. I think they might pass us. I just hope to christ we stay above Plymouth. If they pass us after a 10 point penalty I'll just curl up and cry.

I've reluctantly accepted Wilson is here now until the end of the season, so fuck it, going to forget everything that has gone before and get behind the players from the first whistle (until walsall score or the players show no response).

Every game is going to be our biggest game of the season, If we fail to win 2 out of next 3 i feel as if we are looking at another trip to Crawley...... but by this time DW might of done enough to get sacked, and we may have a squad that want to play for the badge!
