Title: Restricted Press Access.... Post by: Batch on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, 20:24:30 Don't if this means that the club are concentrating on getting us out the shit, or whether they are pissed off at the Adver's recent editorials?! Seems Adver were told its not specific to them.
Twitter stfcadver: Quote Tuesday, 3pm. Thought I'd forgotten to go to press conference at CG then remembered media have had access to players/Wilson restricted Quote They have reviewed their media policy, so it will mean fewer interviews, less access to players and thereby less coverage in the Adver Probably for the best, every time they say something about sticking together and being positive we want them to shut it again! Title: Re: Restricted Press Access.... Post by: DV on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, 20:26:01 about time, shut the fuck up and win...
Title: Re: Restricted Press Access.... Post by: Costanza on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, 20:27:31 Yep, the players have waffled on a fair bit this season.
Title: Re: Restricted Press Access.... Post by: Arriba on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, 20:29:50 the thing i find daft are the reactions on here to the article headlines.
the players and manager do not write them, but you would think so judging by the comments. Title: Re: Restricted Press Access.... Post by: DV on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, 20:53:49 I think the players and manager have some input into the articles written from an interview that was with them.
Title: Re: Restricted Press Access.... Post by: Arriba on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, 20:55:50 no shit.
alot of the reactions are to the headlines, which the players and staff dont write. Title: Re: Restricted Press Access.... Post by: pauld on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, 21:21:31 arriba's bang on (and I've been guilty of it myself) - the headline usually bears bugger all relation to what the player/manager/mascot actually said when you read the quotes, but everyone reads the headline and goes off on one
Title: Re: Restricted Press Access.... Post by: ron dodgers on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, 22:38:35 adver cunt
Title: Re: Restricted Press Access.... Post by: Reg Smeeton on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, 22:46:32 I think the News Monkey should be banned...if peeps want to react, they can always go on thisis.

Also they are sometimes strung out from one interview, with the Adver stringing them over several days. Having said that, the need to sell papers. Title: Re: Restricted Press Access.... Post by: london_red on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, 08:08:24 Probably a good idea from the club this. Most of the interviews in the last few weeks have been variations of the same thing anyway. Nothing they can really add now, just need to concentrate on winning games.

Title: Re: Restricted Press Access.... Post by: BANGKOK RED on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, 08:47:25 Since when has anyone cared if a story is true or not? Daily Mail reader then? Title: Re: Restricted Press Access.... Post by: luckyluke699 on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, 11:15:26 about time, shut the fuck up and win... hopefully that's what it boils down to. STFC deciding on a corporate level to shield them from the press etc, and just get Danny kicking their ass, with their sole focus as concentrating on just winning the football match!! :hmmm: Title: Re: Restricted Press Access.... Post by: Reg Smeeton on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, 17:15:06 Will the fact that there's only likely to be the odd story appearing on thisis mean that the mongs will have to look elsewhere to get their full quota of monotonous moaning.
I noticed that the TEF appeared to get 422 new members in Jan.....I take it the stat is right...probably no coincidence then that it corresponds with our decline into the shit pit. Think a lot of them were in looking for Charlie Austin news. Title: Re: Restricted Press Access.... Post by: Power to people on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, 19:20:56 I suspect the club are a bit upset at the critisicm coming from the local jouro's of late and are fed up with it - but what do they expect with a team that is failing badly.

Title: Re: Restricted Press Access.... Post by: deltaincline on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, 23:20:38 I dont think the club would be restricting access to the press because of what the journo's at the Adver have written recently. Probably more down to them winding their collective necks in now they've finally realised that they really are in the fucking brown stuff.
They know that the platitudes and 'we're all in this together' bullshit has been seen through and that it's just been winding up more and more pressure on themselves and the players. It's a smart move. It will buy valuable breathing space if the result is shite at Southampton and will set up more of a pressure-free atmosphere at the Walsal game, which is the big one that we really cant afford to lose. Like I said. Smart move. Title: Re: Restricted Press Access.... Yep. They've had good support in terms of numbers and patience as far as I can tell. The fact that 800 tickets have already been sold for Saturday only furthers that point. All people want now is for us to start gaining a few points. Nothing else will do.Title: Re: Restricted Press Access....
