Title: Get well soon, Fjørtoft!
Post by: NorwayRed on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, 09:56:16
Jan Åge Fjørtoft broke his back in two places after a ski accident close to my home in Lillehammer yesterday.

Helicopter was called, but he was in good enough condition to be moved to the hospital by ambulance.

Wish him a speedy recovery!

Is he unlikely to come out of retirement now?

Even with his injuries he would look more likely to score than Vince or Thomas :)

Although I remember his first few months when he couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo.

Anyway get well soon Jan

We should send him a get well soon card.

with a demand for him to make a dramatic return to the club as manager

This wouldn't have happened if he'd been managing us.

Get well soon, and then apply to be our manager.

I have this image of Jan flying down the slopes doing the airplane when he came a cropper.

Norwegian TV will be without its Champions League TV coverage anchorman for a while. WHo will replace him? that guy with the "your boys took a hell of a beating" line?

That would be the day. No, seriously the commentator from that game in the 80s has been dead for some years now. Bjorge Lillelien was his name.

The replacement for Fjørtoft on the Champions League coverage is a young bloke born in 1986. I guess if you're good, then you're old enough. Right, DW?

Way to swing another thread towards Danny Wilson.
