Title: football Ground Developments Post by: shady on Friday, February 11, 2011, 19:30:17 Brighton's new ground at Falmer is looking absolutely awesome, three single tier stands with unique slope and a 3 tier stand that belongs in a world cup.

I know we've had our run ins with Brighton over the years, not least that best forgotten play-off night, but they've had a hell of a rough time this past two decades. Did they plan to open for the last couple of games this season then? Would be a heck of a baptism the way the Seasider's are flying! Title: Re: football Ground Developments Post by: shady on Friday, February 11, 2011, 20:00:10 Does look good, but will they fill it? Good point, reading one of their forums a fan suggested 20,000 easy if they got promoted and are playing in such salubrious surroundings, but i'm not so sure. Off to the HogsHead STFCinBournemouth, free voucher for a drink. Done a tour today, Wallisdown, Winton, Charminster, Boscombe and now Westbourne. Marston's pubs and their free drinks offer that was easily exploited :beers: http://www.marstonsoffers.co.uk/offers-pub-search/bournemouth/ Offer at top of page Title: Re: football Ground Developments Post by: axs on Friday, February 11, 2011, 22:17:12 Meh. Looks like a roofier Galpharm. Will be crap one third full.
Title: Re: football Ground Developments Post by: shady on Friday, February 11, 2011, 22:35:26 Says here only 22,500. Looks much bigger. In all honesty, if they get promoted I can see them easily approaching full capacity in The Championship. Massive catchment in the Brighton and Hove, Shoreham and Worthing connurbation. Mind you, so is there in the South East Dorset urban agglomeration but look at the Cherry's average attendence.

Also the location .....they have had to be more strict with deliveries and working conditions etc. How they ever got the go ahead to build there is beyond me.....stunning location. Title: Re: football Ground Developments Post by: shady on Friday, February 11, 2011, 23:01:04 "The stadium's drinking outlets will offer real ales from two local breweries, Harveys and Dark Star, both organisations having supported the club's appeal for a new stadium at Falmer, along with special guest beers from breweries local to the away teams"
This will please some but can't see it being very practical if on cask. Even sadder to see that Scarborough Town, the revived club aren't now competing as following a couple of promotions they couldn't meet the ground requirements of the new league. |
