Boardwalk empire was classic.hbo. Blue blood s is a pretty good police drama series. All good stuff

I started watching both the other week. Both are pretty decent, although i have completely given up watching them. Boardwalk Empire just wasn't my thing at all so didn't bother after the first episode. As for Blue Bloods, it's an actual police drama, focusing on the police officers (and their lives) - none of this "using experts to crack crimes" nonsence like Bones or Numbers - which seemed alright to start with. But i lost interest after a few episodes because again it just wasn't my thing...won't say more because it'l spoil it, and i think my reasons for not wanting to watch it are pathetic.

One thing that i do think these shows do though, is do what they are aimed to do very well. You just have to be in to genre to like them, and in for the long haul.

I watched Entourage in the States and was hooked on the couple of episodes I saw. Looks like it will be a good addition. When I get my Sky+ sorted I'll probably be recording a lot.

Its Sky channel 108 for those that asked.

Boardwalk Empire, need to see what the 2nd episode tonight is like but this is potentially the best thing since The Sopranos.

Quite impressed with Blue Bloods as well, big focus on the character aspect as opposed to the crime storylines.

With complete repeats of The Sopranos & The Wire on the way this could be a channel of epic proportions.

Never got into Sopranos first time round so I'm really looking forward to that.

Boardwalk Empire looks very promising. Buscemi is the bollocks.

Just watched the first ever episode of ER again. Still excellent after all these years.

Looking forward to watching Broadwalk Empire and Blue Bloods via Sky+. If anyone missed last nights first episode of Broadwalk Empire it's repeated tomorrow night.

Good documentary by Spike Lee about Hurricane Katrina and New Orleans on last night.

Didn't realise just how badly or slowly the US government handled the situation.

The adverts suggested this. I didn't bother giving it a go.

I didn't think the new season of Entourage was really any good either.

Great to catch up on shows I've been meaning to watch but never got round to like Big Love and Six Feet Under.

Watched the first part of Boardwalk Empire last night and enjoyed it. Was the scottish girl from Extras the one who got bashed up?

The best line was the little english bloke from Snatch and This Is England, when he said his name was Al Capone.

I'm probably the only one. But this channel is nothing special to me.

Based on the way Sky have been promoting it I thought it was going to be something special, but having looked at their shows for the next week or so it looks a piss poor line up to me. Only a few new shows (all of which have limited appeal) and the rest is just repeats of old show. Not surprised Virgin are refusing to pay much for it as it's worth fuck all, wouldn't even make my top 10 entertainment channels.

It's typical of Sky though - over paying for the rights to shows that were being shown on free to air channels and then expecting their customers to pay extra for them.

I don't know what people were expecting, they've been advertising the scheduled programming for ages.

The amount of adverts is indeed shit.

Boardwalk Empire is pretty good if only for the fact that Paz de la Huerta keeps on getting her kit off.

Funny looking bird, but you would.

Indeed. Does a great job in the lead role as does the bloke who plays his brother in law.

Will give that a go, always liked Malcolm in the Middle and Hal was the best character by far. Has he been in any decent films does anyone know?

Not Sky Atlantic but there was an interesting Ross Kemp programme on Sky One about the Heroin problem in Chicago. Pretty grim viewing.

Next week he is in the Congo which looks even grimmer viewing.

His eyes were freaky!! I cringed when I saw them injecting, absolutely rank!

Next week he speaks to a women who had her arms chopped off before being raped, which doesn't sound much fun.
