Title: Darren Purse
Post by: jimbob on Friday, January 21, 2011, 08:54:27
Released by Sheff Weds. My guess is we're in the mix to sign the ex-scummer. Could be the organisation/leadership we're lacking to steady the ship.

34 next month.

I'd happy with him on an 18 month contract.

Read the stories about him leaving Shef Wed but all their fans seems to slate him and say he's past it now.

Wouldn't be a bad shout. We could do worse.

not one i'd be after to be honest.maybe until the end of the season, but i'm sure he'll be after a longer contract.
we should be competing with sheff wed for players, not taking their cast offs.

Good experience, good leader, good ability and no fee.  It is a no brainer for me, Purse is the kind of centre half we have been missing all season, lets at least offer him a contract.

if we were challenging for promotion then he wouldn't be someone I'd be after either however....

Very experienced but also has a reputation of arguing with managers and disrespecting fans everywhere hes ever played.

Plus hes an ex scummer.

No thank you.

If he signs for anyone it'll be Millwall as they have been linked with him for a while

Noooooooooooooo! I couldn't bring myself to watch him in a Town shirt, the utter prick.

maybe the welsh FA can change it so he doesn't need to wear a town shirt, even though he'd be playing for town?

one of my mates who is a sheff wed fan is glad he's gone, says he's the main problem they've been letting in too many goals.
