That though i understand the fans point of view about Pericard...the loud booing when he came on was an embarasment for me...watched the Town a long time and it hasnt happened a lot....you pays yer money but boo the players off....not on.
To be honest he did ok and actually made the tackle of the match in our box....think the club should move him on for his sake...and ours.
Wasn't impressed at all with the booing when he came....very very sad.

However he did get a lot of applause for that tackle and a couple of other runs, i.e. he did get praise when it was deserve as well as criticism when it wasn't.

Another one....said before I knew of a few who'd given up, because of the negativity of our support....

I was always brought up to believe that support meant you sang, cheered etc your own players, booed the ref...and generally got at the opposition, in anyway legal way possible.

Now it seems you boo your own....take it as read the ref is a cunt...and largely ignore the opposition.

Personally I felt the booing was for Wilson taking off Dossevi rather than bringing on Pericard.  The reaction and chants of you don't what you are doing summed it up when he took off Ritchie.

No, Dossevi was clapped off and the booing started the moment Pericards boot touched the turf.

As for fans booing him from day one, don't completely agree. Pericard was on hiding to nothing early days as he was used as a sub for fans fav Austin.

But he hasn't done enough and should be measured on performance this season. I think you are deluded if at the very least you don't acknowledge that he is poor.

Perhaps we should just pick up some more no hopers on a free, stick'em in a town shirt and blindly cheer'em on as we nose dive to the conference..!!!!!!!!

Most if not all now agree about Pericard not meeting expectations, same as perhaps someone like O'Brien (who I have an idea commands a sizeable wage himself) but there is a difference when as O'Brien continuously fucks up spectators generally laugh or groan and I have yet to hear him booed coming on or whilst playing, yet Pericards appears to be fair game. Certainly don't hold with that being helpful in any way even if he is shit, much like during the game singing 'what a load of rubbish' at the team,................ after the final whistle goes diffferent story.

Also its fair to say O'Brien and Pericard are not alone in being shit for most of this season so far !

I think the same, There's something going on, I mean what's Ferry done to piss Wilson off so much? Wilson obviously has his favourites like Pericard, Prutton etc etc and i think he has lost the dressing room which is another reason why i think he needs to go.

There has always been a few who boo him as soon as he comes onto the pitch, but yesterday was the first time that the booing was really noticeable. No need for it.

He put in a decent shift for his standards, others were far worse. Someone said in another topic that Austin looked like Paynter did at Wembley - I agree, but the lack of service didn't help.

I do not believe Austin showed a lack of effor yesterday. lack of quality in front of goal, but you can't expect him to be putting every effort into the back of the net

I honestly believe people are just trying to kid themselves into thinking he's putting less effort in to soften the blow when he (inevitably) leaves

Pericard was one of the better players yesterday, and he only came on as a sub!

He was holding the ball up, looking for the pass, winning a few headers, christ he even tracked back and performed a superb slide tackle in our box!

Which begs the question.. Should people boo him every week so he plays like that  :D

That was Austin's worst performance for us, yet he was still applauded by those who booed Pericard as he came on.  It irritated the fuck out of me, not because I wanted to have a go at Austin (everyone was terrible bar Lecs for me), but because it shows a level of childishness and petulance from those doing it.  It's pure spite, and I don't see how people think it helps.

I know people get shouted down for suggesting fans moan more now, but I think there are a few who are much more filled with what seems like hatred these days.  I suppose it's down to the money the players get now, and the lack of long term service you get.  It is beginning to sap me now though.  Yesterday was bad enough, without having to argue with people.  Back in the day, when I was knee high t'grasshopper, barracking still existed but it was much more tongue in cheek laden than the sheer vitriol I hear now.  Even when we play well I'm coming out of games irritated by someone near me.
