He came to this club for nothing and helped propel us to within an inch of the play-off final. I think this season's underperformance has a lot to do with his departure and if the club did not recognise his significance to the team, by backtracking on a verbal contract agreement (possibly as a result of a poor run of form towards the end of the season) then he was perfectly within his rights to seek a new contract elsewhere.* *obviously this is just rumour I'm sure the fans player of the season 03/04 will take a whole shit-load of stick come August 22nd but I for one will meet his return with indifference for yet another player who left the club because we weren't able to compete financially to retain an asset.
